Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1988 Toyota SR5 Pickup, extended cab, 4x4. Firstly, i'll start off by saying this truck DOES have a SALVAGE TITLE....when i bought it i didnt realize this untill i was already 3/4 of the way home. Reason i didnt even think to look was because there was no damage indication that it could have ever been in an accident. According to carfax (which will also be included on this ebay page) it was in a front end collision in early 2000's. From what i see theres no signs of damage except one bent piece of metal under the hood. The truck rides straight and doesnt offtrack, and the body seems to line up just fine. So before bidding BEWARE IT IS SALVAGE. Anyway, onto the truck. Me and my father bought this truck as a restoration project (my 5th toyota). When we bought it, it had alot of rust along the bed and rear frame. We stripped the truck all down and started fresh. Off the top of my head i believe we replaced the whole rear box grille corner lights fenders skidplate mirrors tailgate hood hubs gastank fuel pump misc. glass tail lights These parts were sourced via toyota buddies and my own private stash. The rear frame was sanded and painted with tractor paint along with the rear axle, leaf springs, gas tank and anything else along the rear. The whole truck was re-painted....first paint job, mediocre looking. To really look nice i'd say it would need a repaint. It wouldnt look too bad with just some touching up/detailing though. The rear frame was painted, along with the axle etc. when the bed was off. It was primed and painted with black tractor paint, and so far looks good. The whole truck frame and everything on it was going to get re-painted but we didnt get that far. The rims were pulled off and repainted as well. There is some overspray on the tires which will need to be taken off. The bed of the truck isnt too sturdy. It was pulled off of an 85 wheeler rig, so it was beat up to begin with. Structurally, it is weak. Looks good, but i wouldnt put alot of weight it in. It also has some pretty hacked up patch panels on the rear floor. (reference pictures). Going onto the cab, has sliding rear window, latch is broken though. Has a decklight which works as well and has no leaks etc. Its an XTra cab truck, so it does have a roomy rear, no seats though. Rear cab glass is in good condition. Doors open and close just fine, all windows open and close fine as well. Interior is an SR5 special. Grey interior, bucket seats with a center console. Seats are in good condition, drivers seat has all kinds of adjustments for lumbar, and width, etc, which all work as well. Both seats move freely. All gauges work on the dash, transmission shifters move freely, overdrive switch works, climate control works minus A/C (never really tried it to be honest). radio works, but i stole 2 speakers for one of my other trucks, so the 2 rear speakers work, but the 2 speakers under the dash arent there. The wires are still there, they just need to be plugged in. You can still play the radio. The center console has a home made armrest that needs to be mounted. Interior is in GREAT shape. Reference pics. onto the front. Fenders were replaced with good condition used ones. The front hibs were rebuilt about 100 miles ago. I swapped them off of another toyota i sold for parts, shortly after i did the hub work. Power steering works, drives straight, front end is in good shape, no issues here. The good: cant ever sell a vehicle without the "good/bad" portion, so here goes. Truck is an SR5 model, in great shape. Only has 132,923.3 miles on it, so its still young. Anybody who knows these trucks know they rot away, get scrapped, etc. but do run forever and ever and ever and ever. Prices are way up and climbing, so get your hands on this thing before its too late! Interior is practically flawless. Dash IS NOT CRACKED wich is a big toyota problem. It has bucket seats, am/fm cassete, 4 speaker audio, sunroof, wing windows, cloth interior and door panels with carpet. NO vynil or sticky rubber. Everything works on this truck unless otherwise mentioned. It has the powerfull 3.0l V6 and automatic transmission. This thing will do 80mph no problem. Comsmetically, besides the bed, this truck looks amazing. The cab is pretty much rust free. Outside AND IN. Nothing showing under the carpet, along the firewall, on the rockers etc. All lights work, horn works, transmission shifts fine, 4x4 IS FLAWLESS. great in the snow. Tires are fair, everything is just. This truck used to be my daily driver. I ran it on backroads, interstates, rain or shine. Never let me down. Always started right up. Spare parts included. Recently tuned up. All new plugs, wires, cap and rotor and air filter. SMOOOTH. Any questions, please ask!! The bad: uhhh. where to start. okay, here we go. Windsheild has a crack up top, bought it like that. Sunroof has a crack as well. When there was paper on the sunroof during the painting process, (i kid you not, this is a true story) a flock of vultures (seriously, this is true) came down and tried to peck the paper off the glass, and cracked the sunroof. I used to run this truck to work about 30 miles down the interstate everyday @ about 70-75mph. By the time i got to my exit and started to put the brakes on it would shimmy, so i guess the brakes (fronts) need replacing soon. Only did it after running awhile. It was fine for short trips. Set of front pads is inluded with sale. Like i said before, i took the 2 speakers under thge dash out and used them in my 86. The wires are still there, you would just need another set of speakers to plug into them. When i was leaving the bank to get money out for the truck i was buying to replace this one, the check engine light came on. After i shut it off it never came back on. This was the last time i drove the truck so i was never able to get the light to come back on so i could check it. It doesnt come on when it runs, and i've ran it up and down the road a few times since and it hasnt came back on so i really dont know what it is. Just be warned that if you maybe put some miles on this truck it may come back on. The exhaust fell off. The exhaust was always hacked since i got it. I never did anything with it because it never gave me any problems. About 30 miles ago the weld broke holding the cat to the header. I took the rest of the exhaust off so it wasnt dragging and just never fixed it because i knew i was selling the truck. The exhaust is included with the sale. Just be warned its loud, it smells, and its hanging down. The rear brake cylinder broke as well. Its about 9-10 bucks at napa. I bought a spare but used it on my 86 since i wasnt driving the truck anymore. I plugged the line, so it only has 3 brakes, but it holds pressure and firm. I daily drove it this way for almost the whole time i had this truck. I also dont have rear shocks on this truck either. i used them on my 86 (LOL). Alittle bouncy, but i drove the truck like this the whole time i had it. IT has a SALVAGE TITLE. Underside has some rust. Reference pictures. Runs alittle rich. Gas mileage was pretty low if i recall correctly. I wanted to look into it alittle more. At the time i was daily driving it, so it was alittle pricey on gas. 3.0l's were known to be pretty bad on gas, but i think this one was alittle more worse then it should have been. Never got a chance to tinker with it since i decided to sell it. I never replaced the 02 sensor, so that should be looked at. Paint is mediocre as stated above. The bed was outside and the truck was in the garage before it was reassembled, so the bed and cab are alittle bit different in color. Again, the bed isnt too sturdy. I'm planning on selling this truck without a battery, so if you plan on driving it home, please be prepared. Keep in mind i used to daily drive this truck, but it hasnt been registered in almost a year, so drive it home at your own risk. I'd prefer it to be towed for liability purposes, but that and the battery situtation can be discussed at a later time. Now, i dont want the negatives to look like they outweight the positives. I just want to sell this truck with a clean conscience. Let the pictures do the talking. This truck really is a gem. I used to daily drive this truck everyday. Me and my father put alot of work into it. It looks great! It was super reliable and never let me down. The reason i am selling this truck = i do alot of farm work, and construction work. This truck was a beauty when it was all finished up, so i felt guilty taking it into the woods/hauling with it, throwing scrap in the bed etc. I stopped driving it and bought a diesel chevy and a beater toyota to do all my work. From there the truck sat in the driveway and eventually i decided to sell it because i cant afford insurance on a 3rd vehicle. Theres nothing wrong with the truck that would make me want to sell it. Its sentimental to me to say the least. I just didnt want to beat it like every other truck i've used on the farm. This truck stayed on the road 100% of the time. I never took it out into the farm lanes. its also smoke and pet free. My 86 toyota spun a bearing, and my chevy needs the transmission pulled, so i'm selling this truck to fix my other two. If not, i'd still be tinkering on it with my father. Please ask questions. this truck is being sold as is. I want no problems. I told you everything thats wrong with it. If you want more info ask. You bid it, you bought it. UPDATE: December 6th. Sales over $3,000.00 include a battery. Thank you for all the questions interest. As per request a Buy It Now has been added
