Vehicle Detail
1995 Camaro Z28 with 5.7L (350 ci) V8 LT1 motor and 4-speed automatic transmission. 137k miles on original engine, transmission, and chassis. Car runs great. This car was my daily driver until about 6 months ago (when we purchased a larger vehicle). Even at 18 years of age, I would trust this vehicle to take me anywhere. We now simply have too many vehicles, and I simply do not have the time to maintain all of them. I drive it to work twice a week to keep the fluids circulating and the seals fresh. I purchased this car in 2008 with 98k miles on it, and as you can tell, I have only averaged about 6k miles per year. The large majority of these miles are highway miles (commuting from Ohio to Virginia in 2008/2009, and over the last several years, from the Hampton Roads area to Shenandoah Valley of Virginia). Since this was my daily driver, I have taken good care of the car. I have performed all maintenance on this vehicle myself since owning it, and I am very meticulous. I have never driven this car hard or abused it. With that being said, the car is now 18 years old--only 7 years from being eligible for antique license plates in Virginia--and is in good shape for its age. The good: 1. T-tops (that do not leak), leather, alloy wheels 2. Tires have only about 10k miles on them 3. New fuel pump about a year ago 4. Oil changed every 3000 miles or every 6 months (whichever came first) 5. Transmission fluid changed every 20k miles since owning it (three times) 6. New parking brake cables 6 months ago 7. New rear brake pads 4 months ago 8. Fabric headliner and t-top covers redone about a year ago 9. New ignition switch and pigtail connector 3 years ago (at about 100k miles) 10. Coolant system was flushed and refilled about 30k miles ago. 11. New starter 4 years ago 12. New hatch lifts about 4 years ago 13. Drilled rotors with ceramic brake pads on the front 14. Never been smoked in. 15. New door locks and rear hatch lock 16. Spare ignition (with correct anti-theft resistor) and door keys 17. New battery within last year (with multi-year warranty) 18. Fitted carpet dash pad19. Replaced rear differential fluid within last year (including factory limited slip additive) 20. Tires rotated at each oil change 21. Power drivers seat, power windows/locks, and delco-bose cd player (stock)22. New rear shocks about a year ago 23. New rear bump-stops about 6 months ago 24. New spark plugs about two years ago (about 15k miles ago) 25. New air filter about a year ago 26. Cruise control Also included with the car are: a Haynes repair manual, a spare oil filter + 5qts 5w30 oil, and 5 qts Dex/Merc ATF The not-so-good: 1. While the heat works great, the AC does not. The car slowly lost its cool air a couple years ago, so it is likely a system leak. However, the T-tops make the hottest summer day bearable, so I simply couldn't prioritize spending the time tracking down and fixing the AC leak. 2. Recently, the leather driver's seat developed a crack in the center of the seat cushion (see pictures). Also, the rear seat cracked at the seams years ago, and I have simply lived with it. I considered rewrapping all the seats (or even trying to source some used seats in good condition), but now that it's not my daily driver, I haven't been able to justify it. Seat covers would be a cheap alternative. 3. Isolated regions of the clear coat have started flaking (see pictures). As far as I know, all the paint and clear coat are original, so after 18 years of use, this isn't surprising. 4. The rear bumper has a blemish (not dented) where somebody scraped it in 2008 while parked on the street in front of my home. There are also a few small dents around the car and scratches. Most of them are light. See pictures for detail. The defrost vent vanes cracked and broke off completely in the center of the dash (the big center hole on upper dash in the pictures). Windshield still defrosts fine. I considered making a black metallic mesh insert, but again, it was low on my priority list and has not happened.5. The power locks haven't worked right since I purchased the car. Locking and unlocking the doors manually and with the keys work fine, so I never bothered with the power locks. However, it is likely as simple as replacing the modules housing the switches in the door. 6. I'm sure there are other things I am missing here, but I can't think of anymore. If I do, I will edit this listing. If you can't tell, I care considerably that the car functions as a reliable means of transportation, but not as much about cosmetics and amenities. If you are looking for a show car, this is not it. If you are looking for a reliable car or even a platform for racing/modding, this is it. I have tried to represent the vehicle as accurately as I possibly can, but there is no substitute for seeing it in person. The stock exhaust is throaty, the car is light, and the engine pulls hard. Feel free to message me with questions. Also, I'd be happy to send my phone number via message if you'd like to discuss the vehicle. This is a fun and fast sports car, and while it is 18 years old, I would trust this car to drive anywhere anytime. I have the title ready to sign over, free and clear. Virginia State Inspection good until April 2014. I believe in the fun and spirit of no reserve auctions. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding! I would be happy to pick up the winning bidder at either the Newport News Williamsburg International Airport (PHF) or at the Norfolk International Airport (ORF), if he or she finds it cheaper to fly one-way to pick up and drive the car home. Note that if you have zero feedback and are bidding, I will message you confirming your interest in the car. If I do not receive a response from you within 24 hrs (or before the auction ends), I will cancel your bid. Also, I require a $100 deposit made via Paypal within 24 hours after auction end to confirm your intention to purchase the vehicle. Cash or cashier's check at time of pickup will be accepted as payment for the vehicle. Finally, like I mention, I am still driving this car weekly, so the mileage will change. On Dec-11-13 at 19:58:44 PST, seller added the following information: Edit 12/11/2013:Since the rain finally stopped, I took many more pictures of the car, including both the engine bay and the underside of the car. Please visit the following hyperlink to my flickr album of the images (this was easier than adding all the images to this listing): Link to album of additional images (hosted on flickr) On Dec-12-13 at 04:58:09 PST, seller added the following information: Edit 12/12/2013: Forgot to mention that, as you can see in the pictures, the manual included is for a 1997 Camaro Z28, even though the car is a 1995 Camaro Z28. This is the manual I got with the car, but you can easily download the users manual for the 1995 Camaro Z28 at the following link (and many other places online): Link to PDF of 1995 Camaro Z28 Users ManualOn Dec-14-13 at 08:41:19 PST, seller added the following information: Edit 12/14/2013: Just wanted to add a little more information. As you can see if you have already viewed the album of pictures I posted earlier this week, I took as many pictures as I could, and all the imperfections are documented in the pictures. Though, it's difficult to make them out in some of the cases, so I just wanted to point them out. The major issues with the exterior include: (1) clearcoat peeling on the driver's side door and on the black roof section between the T-tops and the rear windshield; (2) a few small regions where paint has been chipped/removed revealing the black plastic underneath on the rear bumper and on the front bumper; (3) light scratches around the doors and the side panels, with one more pronounced scratch on the bottom of the driver's side door and one near the driver's door handle--neither of which are down to the metal--they are just more visible than the lighter scratches I mention; and (4) a small round dent near the rear radio antenna about the size of a dime, but the paint is not damaged, so you have to be looking for it to see it. Again, all of these are visible in the pictures, but I just wanted to point them out in case they were hard to find looking through all of the pictures. Also, though I think it's implied, to be clear, the car is sold as-is. I am not a mechanic, and I cannot make any guarantees regarding the vehicle. I can only describe to you the current state of the vehicle and provide as many details as possible via text and pictures, which I have done in this listing. This is no substitute for seeing it in person. If you have absolutely any questions or concerns that aren't addressed already, please message me before you bid or before the auction ends tomorrow around 8PM EST. Thanks for looking, and happy bidding!
