Vehicle Detail
Sorry about the limited pictures, I'll try to get some more up by the end of the weekend. If you want to see anything specific, feel free to let me know. Car is nice and well-maintained (I have a very complete file of records going back to circa 1990). However, it is important to remember that the car does have 104K miles on it, so it is not perfect. I am the third owner. Car was first leased in VA for 2 years, then bought by the second owner in NC where it lived from 1988-2011. Options include: "Glacier Blue Glamour Metallic" paint JBL Audio System Leather seats Wire wheels Digital dash w/ trip computer Auto-dimming rearview mirror What works: pretty much everything except: the power door lock switch (not the lock itself) on passenger door and one of the "tilt" switches on passenger door. Radio works fine/well, but when the volume is adjusted there is some static during the process. Condition (mechanical): Runs and drives well. Battery is 6 months old. Alternator is about 3 years old. Michelin Symmetry tires, as well as brakes, are about 5 years old with less than 10K miles on them. A/C has been converted to R134 and is cold (I had charged upon delivery a couple Falls back). The only thing negative to mention is that sometimes the engine takes two attempts to start. I assume it is a fuel pressure issue (pump always primes when the key is turned, so I'm not sure if the fuel pump itself is the culprit). There is a new fuel pressure regulator in the glovebox that I've never dealt with. Also, when brake pedal is depressed, there is a "hissing" noise at first - this seems to get better as the drive continues....the car stops fine and the pedal does not feel soft, so I haven't worried about it. Condition (body): Very presentable. Of course, there are a few small scratches from use, but nothing that really catches the eye. Right front painted bumper filler on side has brushed something lightly. Biggest problem for me is where the vinyl top has pulled away from the molding where it meets the painted part of the body (passenger side C-pillar). This a 4-5 inch section which the previous owner filled with clear silicon (I don't know how to address other than replacing the whole vinyl top which is perfect otherwise). The wire wheels still look decent, but do have slight haze as they always do. These are better than most though, I have to say. Also, the window run channels are dry and disintegrated in places on the outside (inside is fine) - I've looked for NOS ones with no luck. Condition (interior): Very nice. If you know these cars, you know that the dashes bake quickly and that the integrated speaker covers crack. This car's dash looks new, proving that it has been garaged. The leather interior is very nice, with the driver's seat showing minor wear as expected. The glovebox door has the usual separation at the top (previous owner attempted to glue). Front passenger armrest has slight cracking on corner. Front driver's armrest is badly cracked underneath the color-keyed aftermarket plastic cover (made to fit). DISCLAIMER: This vehicle is almost 27 years old, so NO WARRANTY of any kind is expressed/implied. $500 deposit required via PayPal within 24 hours of winning bid. Final payment to be made via cashier's check, cash, or personal check (though vehicle can not be released until check clears bank). Thanks. On Nov-24-13 at 06:06:03 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE 11/24/2013: Starting hesitation issue (mentioned in description) resolved. It was not fuel pressure related, but was a bad "ignition control module". It has been replaced. Car starts normally now.On Nov-24-13 at 13:09:56 PST, seller added the following information: I forgotten to mention that a bag of spare (new) back-up parts will be included that the previous owner gave to me when I bought the car. These include 2 extra wheel center caps, an ignition control module, a MAP sensor, and a few other miscellaneous items. On Nov-24-13 at 19:04:04 PST, seller added the following information: FOLLOW-UP ON 1ST 11/24/2013 UPDATE ABOVE: I had the car out tonight on some errands, and the car started immediately 5 times out of 6. However, once it did take about 5 seconds of cranking for the engine to start. So, maybe the new ICM fixed the issue, maybe not. Just trying to cover everything here.On Nov-26-13 at 08:24:10 PST, seller added the following information: Zero feedback buyers - please contact me if interested before bidding. Thanks.
