Up for auction is a 1933 Chrysler Royal Eight CT Coupe. It belonged to my Father and it was the 2nd love of his life. My Father past away 2 years ago from cancer and it took until now to make a decision on what to do with his antique car collection. My Dad bought this car over 40 years ago. He decided to restore it shortly before we moved from Bourbonnais IL to Herscher IL. The car was completely disassembled and parts labeled. By the time a suitable garage was built for a restoration the parts were already stored safely in the hayloft. My Dad would drive the car up and down the lane with nothing but the frame and cab. We were avid horse showers and raised livestock as well. Restoring a car never made it to the top of the list. In the early 80's when the economy tanked my parents moved from the farm in Herscher IL to a house in Kankakee IL. Once again the car was moved along with all the parts. my Dad would piddle with the car and did bodywork on it. We could tell as he got older that the reassembly and restoration was becoming overwhelming to him. It wasn't until after 2000 that he contacted an old friend from the Kankakee Valley Vintage Car Club to help him with the project. Ed was a great all around fixer upper and did about every level of car repair from engine work to upholstery. They spent months sorting through parts and making the car whole again. The result made my Dad very happy and he proudly drove it around when it was finished. It was something to take off his bucket list. CONDITIONThe body and frame on the car are very solid. As the paint is aging (11 years old) I can see signs of sanding scratches and bodywork. There is an area with a crack just in front of the drivers side spare on the front fender. There is also a small dent on the rear fender where he must have brushed something at one time. I tried to get as many pictures as possible to show the condition. I can always take any pictures of anything I missed and post them later or send them to you. Lots of the chrome has been sprayed over with chrome paint. MECHANICALMy dad last drove the car in August of 2003 to a car show. After that the fuel pump quit and it stayed in the storage unit for 10 years until I trailer-ed it to my house and got it ready for Ebay the best I could. I replaced the battery and the fuel pump with a carter electric fuel pump. It runs and drives but needs tune-up parts. FEATURES This car has the suicide doors and the rumble seat. It has a trunk in the back. It has the twin side mount spare tires but for some reason the covers were not installed on them. I included pictures of them. One of the mounts is missing the chrome ring that goes around the top. OVERALLThis is a very rare car and I have never seen another one just like it. I feel it needs to be in a museum or restored to it's true potential. There were only 1033 of these made and not too many left. I have tried to describe it to the best of my knowledge. I wish my Dad were here to answer some of my questions but I promise I will do the best I can. SHIPPING AND PAYMENTThe buyer will be responsible for all shipping arrangements. I will require a deposit within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Any balance will need to clear before the car and title are released.
