This is a no reserve auction and starting at a very low price. Up for sale is a 1968 BMW 2000C coupe. This car is a relatively rare factory automatic example that is reported to have been delivered new to Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn, (according to Bonham’s Auctions, from whom I purchased the car). This car is currently in the form of a stripped and rolling shell, in primer with the parts, running gear, wiring, side windows etc., removed. As you can see from the pictures, this car is about as rust free as a 45 year old BMW can get! The seats appear to be original and the coverings are excellent, but the padding underneath is a bit hard in spots. There are many spare and NOS parts, including items such as a complete exhaust system, windshield gaskets front and rear, brake system components, a new weber carb, bolts of factory materials and other rubber gaskets, etc. There are many other extra used items such as numerous stainless steel trim parts including headlight assemblies. All turn signal reflectors have been re-silvered. The engine is taken apart, but I did notice some duplicate parts, such as an extra valve cover and crank shaft… Take a look at the pictures, as all parts shown are included. Please ask if you have any questions. The only parts I noticed as missing are a spare wheel and one side window, however there may be others… Please do not bid if you are not serious for this sort of a project. Any bidder with negative or less than 10 feedbacks bids will be rejected, unless you contact me and are granted permission to bid in advance. There is will be a $500 deposit which must be received within 48 hours of the close of this auction. Pay pal is acceptable for this deposit. Payment in full, either by cash in person, or wire transfer or certified check, (which obviously must clear first), and must be made before the car can be released. Obviously this car is in many pieces and will need to be towed. All transportation expenses are the responsibility of the buyer. Seller will assist the transport company with the loading of the vehicle, however. This car and Seller reside in CT, and CT will not issue new titles for vehicle older than 1980. I have a CA title and bill of sale from Bohanms signed into my name. I will give these documents together with a CT State bill of sale to the successful buyer. This car is not offered for overseas delivery, only in the lower 48 States, and is obviously sold in “ as is“ condition and no warranties are expressed or implied.
