Vehicle Detail

I'm happy to answer questions regarding details of condition, but here's the overview: 1972 Datsun 240Z, manufacture date July 1972Clean MA title Stored in dry garage since I purchased in 2007 Runs and drives Engine runs smooth and strong Original L24 block (flat-top pistons) with N47 head from a 1977 280Z Twin Weber 32/26 DGEV downdraft carbs, manual choke Original 4-speed transmissionOriginal R180 rear differentialRecent Carter electric fuel pump (with inertia safety switch in cabin) All new black OEM-style carpet w/insulation All body panels, hood, hatch, doors are solid Original bumpers and Euro-spec bumper overriders are solid, chrome is fair/good Paint is decent and even, but an aging respray - a few imperfections, chips, see pictures Factory 280ZX mag wheelsOriginal economy spare, unused1977 OEM cast exhaust manifold now installed Vintage ANSA twin exhaust tips 280Z seats - passenger good / drivers seatback fair, seat cushion is roughOEM shoulder beltsSome black interior trim is from a 280ZRecent ignition components (coil, plugs, cap/rotor, wires)See pictures for floorpan condition. Floor has been coated with the POR-15 floor kit like this: http://www.carcraft.com/howto/24544/ prior to new insulation and new carpet being installed Needs exhaust work One rear brake drum is dragging a little All brake and fuel lines look to be very oldAll the other typical concerns with any 40+ year old automobile - car is sold as-is, of course. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. On Nov-13-13 at 14:55:35 PST, seller added the following information: To address a few more questions that have been asked: I prefer messages here instead of phone, but please feel free to ask away. As far as arranging a visit to view the car beforehand please send me a private message here and I'll try to do what I can but I'm very limited to when I can meet this week, sorry. The car runs and drives but I certainly wouldn't trust it on any kind of long trip. Towing/flatbed is the way to go if you're coming from any kind of distance.By my eye it looks like both floor pans were replaced many years ago but need to be done again. The passenger side is the worst (the last picture) and has a piece of sheetmetal (painted black, that's what you see from below) laid in with the fiberglass repair with the POR-15 kit. It's OK for now and fairly solid all things considered, but needs to be done right. If I were keeping the car I would: install all new exhaust, including headers; replace all the fuel and brake lines; and replace the floor pans. Then new paint maybe and start in on the suspension I suppose... but you know it goes, you could just keep going and going. Aside from the floors they're really aren't any major rust spots - hood, hatch, doors, body panels, all of them are solid.Definitely not a daily driver, at most I drove it once it a week in the summer months. Never driven between November and April. The paint looks decent but does have flaws, a few small chips near hatch, a 1-2" chip in the very tip of the hood, clearcoat faded and peeling a little on the roof, little things here and there. Nothing awful, but certainly not A+ On Nov-14-13 at 07:51:23 PST, seller added the following information: I addressed the paint condition in the description above but wanted to add that I believe it has always been blue and was repainted at some point years ago with the correct factory color.I will include the original Datsun 240Z (S30) Owner's Manual and the original Warranty and Service Booklet and owner's card. Both are in good condition. The car was purchased new in Lynn, MA and to my knowledge has always been in Massachusetts.
