Vehicle Detail
1974 AMC Javelin (H Code) I am selling this Javelin due to multiple ‘’paying” customers’ projects taking priority over another of my own. I am the third owner of this survivor Javelin. The previous owner had it for the last 15 years and lived in Mississippi. I do have receipts from past owner for maintenance and other work done on the car while in their possession. This is a base 1974 Javelin H code. It was assembled in Kenosha, WI., 304 CI/5.0L engine, TF-998 automatic transmission, Motor Craft 2100 carburetor, with a 2.55 limited slip rear end, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, dual exhaust, AC and classic moon rims. The car has approximately 133,920 miles. The Car had a new paint job about 9 years ago (color plum, fair today condition for a basic paint job) original paint was two-tone, brown with tan striping. Car has black interior and newer black carpet. The black vinyl top was replaced by the previous owner. The car runs great and transmission shifts fine. On 4/20/2013 the car was given a tune up with fuel filter, new coil, new points, condenser, plugs, 8mm plug wires and rotor cap. The carburetor was rebuilt on 4/28/2013. The car has been started periodically and driven, less than 8 miles at a time and as of 9/22/2013 was given a brand new battery. All gauges work and the tires are new with less than 4000 miles. Floor and trunk pans are in great condition. All glass is in good condition, no chips or cracks and appears to be original. Original “grab or chicken bar” (tan) is included, a bit dusty but is in good condition for restoration. The car comes with a few extras. v Front end rebuild kit (front end is in good condition, just something I planned on doing) v 1 1974 Owners manual v New wood grain shift handle with shifter lever inner handle v A pair of quarter window leading edge weather-strips seals, rear v One rear quarter window trim, chrome new v Dash Top/Pad (accommodates air conditioning) v Windshield washer, dome light and head light dash switches v Refurbished rear AMC target emblem v Driver’s side mirror adjust lever bezel, NEW chrome Known issues or needed fixes, other than your own custom touches; blower motor only blows on high, AC is not working. There are minor dings in the body, but nothing that could not EASILY be corrected during paint prep. All exterior car trim is in fair shape, only missing trim is on the drive side rear window that the leading edge weather-strip goes into and a replacement is included. Seats need to be upholstered (black and plum seat covers now), horns not working (not wired up), headliner should be replaced, side mirror adjust lever is missing from the driver’s door but I do have a new replacement; the dome light is not working and missing the lens. After market radio is not working. New weather stripping is needed but the car is currently garage kept. Please do NOT BID if you do not have the funds or permission to purchase from your significant other! Car is 39 year old car being sold “AS IS” with no implied warranties from seller. Payment will be required in cash or cashier’s check made out to the seller at the time of pick up. Car must be picked up within 7 days of the winning date unless other arrangements are made with seller. Purchaser is responsible for car pickup and delivery to their location. Here is your chance to own a survivor Javelin, these “survivors” are getting harder to find. If you have any questions please call DP Garage at 816-835-0047 and ask for Pete or email via eBay. This vehicle is also for sale locally and the auction may end at any time. On Oct-25-13 at 15:39:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a few questions on the undercarriage, frame, floor, trunk pans and shock towers. They are in great shape. On the shock towers I had the shop mechanic take a look, for the age of the car he rates them a 9 out of 10. Sure there is some rust here and there on the undercarriage but you would be surprised on how good of shape this 39 year old car is in. No rust bucket here.
