OVERVIEW
Trucks are one of my favorites. Those of you who have me added as a favorite seller know that I search the country for the coolest, nicest pickups to drive, enjoy, and offer for sale.
This 1957 F100 was purchased from a collection with other trucks, a killer Ford Convertible, a Cessna airplane, a forklift, and more.
It is a clean old truck, and has seen almost daily use at the prior owner’s air park facility for quite a few years.

DESCRIPTION
When I went to the collection of vehicles, aircraft, and other goodies this truck was located at, the first vehicle I saw was this one, because that is how we drove from the main house to the hangar!
The truck is just AMAZING, and it falls in that odd category because it is not really RESTORED, not all original, and not rodded out or customized. It is a clean, well maintained, and reliable truck that has had new paint a few years back, new seals and other goodies as needed, and has been properly cared for and maintained to be ready for action whenever it was called on to carry people, horse feed, airplane parts, or whatever.
The truck has seen almost daily use for quite a number of years, and will still fire up, purr like a big cat, and drive you wherever you want to go.
The body is solid, clean, and actually looks pretty darn good thanks to being stored inside the hangar for many years.
It has some dents, dings, chips, scuffs, scrapes, and marks on it from being used as a truck, but it still turns heads when you roll into town to grab supplies!
Windshield and rear glass are great looking, but the side glass on both sides has cracks and the vent windows have laminate issues. They still work, go up and down on good fuzzies, and seal with relatively good rubber, but they are indeed cracked.
Bright work, trim, and chrome pieces show patina from age, but still look pretty darn good as a whole.
Tail gate opens and closes like it should, and the huge diamond plate tool / storage box is included in the sale.
The bed floor is metal, solid, and looks pretty darn good considering it has been used like a truck for 20 years!
Cab corners are solid, rockers are solid, and the truck really shows to be solid steel all the way around.
The rear bumper sets over a box hitch, and it is functional, with a wired plug for your trailer that I have not tested. The prior owner said it worked with his single horse trailer, and he moved horses from the house/air park to the ranch (about 20 miles away) a few times a week with it.
The chrome grille, driving lights, and trim look great up front, and everything works as it should.
It rolls on original steel wheels with patina covered center caps that are wrapped in very fresh looking radial tires size P235-75R15 all around. He said the radials made the truck a lot nicer on the highway than running bias ply units.
Inside, the interior is sparse, clean, and just what you want from a work horse.
The vinyl bench is in good condition, firmly sprung, and comfy.
Floor is covered in vinyl cut to fit matting, and it looks good.
Headliner is original and shows pretty nice.
Factory fuel and temp gauges work, and the auxiliary gauges for OIL/AMP/TEMP also work. So do the extra 12V outlets installed under the dash.
All of the factory switchgear works as it should, but does show patina and aging.
The HUPP heater box looks great, and the glovebox and ashtray open as they should too.
A new gas tank was installed in 1996, and is still getting fuel to the motor with no issues.
According to the prior owner, the motor is the original 292ci FORD motor the truck was made with, and he said that as far as he knew, the miles were correct, although I cannot verify this, and the title shows EXEMPT.
He said he bought it in the mid 80’s off the son of the 2nd owner, and has owned it and driven it ever since.
Plans were made to restore it to showroom condition, but the truck was always being driven, used, and enjoyed, so they never got around to it.
The chassis is solid, rot and issue free, and could be washed and wiped down to show even nicer than it already does.
The truck starts right up, the manual choke still works, and it purrs smooth and silky through the custom exhaust.
Snick the 3 speed column shift into gear, ease the clutch out, and you are rolling along in no time.
The truck is easy to drive, runs great, and cruises comfortably at 50-60 mph. It will go faster, but it is working the motor too much to do any good. This is made in a time when the freeway speed was 50 and most cars went 45 or so on county roads. Around town, it is a dream, and everyone gives you a thumbs-up when they see it!
I have put about 50 miles on the truck, and it does what it should without much drama.
It handles GREAT thanks to the radials, rolls straight and tracks straight, stops without any pulling or wander thanks to the manual 4-wheel drum brakes that have been maintained very well, and runs out cool even in the Florida summer heat.
You could restore this truck to excellent original condition without much effort, and the solid chassis, body, and motor are in place already.
You could trick it out, customize it, hot rod it…. It is a PERFECT base for that too.
However, I think the BEST thing for this truck is to find someone who will continue to drive, enjoy, maintain, and care for it for the next 25 years.
It fits everyone from our office manager who is 5'3" and 100 pounds all the way to my friend Jeff at 6’3” and 270 pounds, so chances are it will fit YOU just fine! No chopped top to deal with, and plenty of room between the tilt steering wheel and seat back if you enjoy a beer or five and have larger dimensions.
It comes with a key, and a clean, clear, and valid Title as a 1957 Ford.
