1968 Pontiac Firebird 350 Project Car. First the bad.....a lot of rust! Top is shot...2 big holes in the top, holes in the floors, holes in the trunk area, car has been sitting in a yard for about 10 years car was running when parked. Was being started up to about 4 years ago. It needs a hood latch and a battery. Now the good.....I got the car running today,I'm sure the gas tank will need to be cleaned out and a good tune up, but the motor does runs good, the transmission is not working don't know if it's low on fluid or just don't shift. Car is very factory original, I'm not sure of the motor. Paint is original, interior which is in original condition, dash is still original, bumpers, wheels, glass, automatic on the column. Transmission is original, Frame looks good, most of the lights work, the doors, fenders, quarter panels are in decent condition, I have almost 25 years history with this car, body is straight and the car has never been wrecked. There's a lot of original parts on this car, it would be a good restoration project. The person i bought it from had it since 1999. CAR RUNS AND DRIVES IT'S A COMPLETE CAR! I DO HAVE A CLEAR TITLE. On Oct-04-13 at 09:57:09 PDT, seller added the following information: I CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IT WAS NOT SHOWING ON THE STICK. I ADDED 2 QUARTS OF FLUID BROUGHT IT UP TO FULL THE MARK ON THE STICK. STARTED THE CAR PUT IT IN DRIVE IT MOVES FORWARD AND IT MOVES BACKWARD IN REVERSE IT HAS LOW AND IT HAS DRIVE. IT COULD HAVE BEEN LOW FROM SITTING OR JUST LOW, ITS SHIFTS PRETTY FIRM BUT THIS IS IN MY DRIVE WAY. I'M NOT TAKING THE CAR ON THE ROAD. KEEP IN MIND THIS CAR NEEDS WORK, ITS A PROJECT CAR. He's saying that the water pump has 11 bolts in it, wich means its a 60s motor instead or 9 bolt for the seventies. And the intake is correct for the year car, so in his opinion is that it could be the original motor. Also the front seat is very rare, and the 2 speed transmission is also very rare. He also tells me that the wheels also have serial #s on them so its a good chance that these wheels do match the car.
