True Barn Find 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible V8 Power top New Tires New Brakes all around New battery New Carb New fuel tank and sending unit I purchased this car a few months bank from the owner of the past 25 years plus. It was used as his daily driver when he was in high school and then parked in his barn until my son and I got it out It had not been touched in over 25 year. I installed a new gas tank and sending unit and the carburetor to get it to run. Then I installed new tires and brakes so it could be driven. It cranks up with the turn of the key and runs great. There is a bit of valve clatter but is should go away as it is driven. Transmission starts out in first and shifts into second but does not currently shift into third. It drives fine otherwise and may clear up as it is driven more. The power top does not go down but the top motor does work. It appears to be low on fluid. Body wise the car has a dent in the passenger door that unfortunately I put in it getting it out of the barn There appears to be some body filler in the usual Mustang areas and some rust bubbles in the bottom of the passenger door. The floor pans need to be replaced but overall look decent. The paint has some shine to it but of course has the usual scratches here and there from sitting in the barn with stuff against it It will need to be repainted at some point. The top looks great and has no tears in it and even the rear window is good. The interior looks to original and is in great shape for the age of the car. With a good cleaning it should be fine. This is truly a cool car and one that is ready to be worked on and enjoyed. With just some minor work it can be a great daily driver and enjoyed as the other work is done Don't let this rare opportunity get away. The trunk area looks good as well On Sep-02-13 at 09:21:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Serviced the transmission this morning and drove the car approx. 50 miles and the transmission is now trying to go into 3rd gear from time to time so it may start working with some more drive time. The floor pans do have some rust through and as stated earlier will need to be replaced at some point.
