Vehicle Detail

This is a 1934 Ford Four Door that I purchased in running original condition in 1981. Drove from Houston Texas to my shop in Algiers Louisiana and proceeded to build the current car. It has a Buick V-6, GM Turbo 350 automatic trans, Ford 8" rear end with parallel leaf springs. Front end is Mustang II with power disc brakes, rear brakes are drum and power assist. Wheels are McLean wire with Michelin tires. The body is all steel and I chose the V-6 so as to not cut the virgin firewall. Only metal that was replaced was the sills under the doors. Body was stripped and saturated in PPG DP40 from the old days. Paint- Jaguar Atlantis Blue (teal). 7-8 on a 10.Fuel tank is 16 gallon stainless. Steering column is tilt and tele. Vintage air conditioning, Kenwood boom box with cd and usb and remote. 1 7/8" light duty hitch for pulling small luggage trailer. Cowl lights, blue dots, kool!!! Interior is gray mohair. 7-8 on a 10. Window garnish moldings are wood grained in rose wood color. Cowl vent has been closed to prevent leaking. Windshield still opens and does not leak. Steering wheel is leather LaCarra. All chrome and stainless is 8-9 on 10. In its prime this car was on the front cover of NSRA's national mag and was awarded top dog award for best Buick powered car by GM Buick Motor Division at '82 street rod nationals. Needless to say it has won lots of hot rod event awards and still does so. You can't build it for what auction price!!!!!!! "Now the rest of the story. This car was on eBay recently and I pulled it down due to a bidder test driving the car and the engine developed a shake. I pulled the engine and tore it down. Found essentially nothing contributing to the issue. (the engine as perfect for having 20,000+/- miles on it). I put new rings, bearings, valve grind, new oil pump, new water pump, new flywheel, new harmonic balancer, new gaskets, tested and reinstalled. What was found was that the right side motor mount, very important on a V-6, had broken. This was not found till reinstalling the motor. I chose to replace the mounts and found one had failed." So essentially a new motor with now about 200 miles on it. Its time to go and take the grand kids for a ride.
