Vehicle Detail
Beautiful 2006 Toyota Prius with leather, Bluetooth, Homelink, low miles, backup camera, etc. - needing minor low-speed accident damage repaired. This auction is for our family's very loved and very well-cared-for Prius, sadly the subject of a recent minor accident. This Prius has low miles (~101,500), almost every option for the year (leather, Bluetooth, Homelink, steering wheel controls, 6-CD changer, backup camera, etc.) and a perfect service history. It was our family's everyday car until we rear-ended another Prius (ironically enough) at the very top of the Verrazano Bridge in NY. I (Shaun, the co-owner of the car with my wife) was driving at the time (with my wife and daughter in the car as well), in typical New York heavy bumper-to-bumper traffic. A moment of inattention caused us to hit the car in front of us at a VERY slow speed - likely 10 (or less) miles per hour. My fault entirely. The bump was just enough to cause the damage shown in the images. After the accident we drove the car approximately two miles off the bridge (following the car we hit to a safe place for us all to stop and exchange insurance information) to an exit where we waited for the police to come to fill out their reports. We then had the car flatbedded home from there. If the impact/damage had not compromised the radiator (it - or the coolant tank behind/above it - leaked), we could/would have continued on...the car ran and drove just fine with no "check" lights on on the dashboard...the right front tire rubbing the plastic fender liner and/or bumper cover was the only other sign from behind the wheel that the car wasn't still perfect. Once the flatbed took our Prius home, we continued our weekend in New York with a rental car. When we got home again, I moved the Prius in our driveway and then noticed that a few of the braking system lights ("ABS", "Brake") were on, which either started with the flatbed driver unloading the car or from it sitting a few days...anyway, there are a couple of the check lights on now. The car still starts, runs, drives, and brakes just fine, albeit with the one tire rubbing the plastic and the few lights on on the dash. My wife has already replaced this gold Prius, which was her daily driver, with a new red Prius (she always wanted a red one as our family car and now has it!) so we'll be selling the gold 2006 as it is rather than repairing it. Here's the other important stuff you want to know: the airbags did NOT deploy because it was such a low-speed bump. The car does NOT have a salvage title! The title is free and clear and in our name, ready to transfer to you without being salvage branded. At the time of the accident, everything was working perfectly and the only thing about the car that wasn't perfect was a minor scrape just forward of the passenger side taillight - it was like that when we bought it. Oh, and speaking of "when we bought it" - when we bought this Prius from the local Toyota dealer the right front fender and passenger-side headlight were damaged. I replaced those myself years ago. Just wanted to let you know everything about the car - full disclosure! With the exception of those pieces (painted perfectly to match), the car wears all of its original paint...never been repainted. The light gold paint still shines beautifully and looks great - see pics. This Prius has tan leather seats in excellent condition throughout, but we also have a very active 5-year-old, so you might find an occasional mark or scuff from her if you really look for them. It has Bluetooth connectivity to your Smartphone (we paired easily with my IPhone and my wife's Blackberry). It has the Toyota factory backup camera that presents nice clear images of what's behind you on the center display on the dash. This Prius has the Smartkey system that allows you to keep your key in your pocket or purse at all times - you just walk up to the car and it unlocks, then you push the start button - no fumbling for keys. It has air conditioning, power windows, power mirrors, power door locks, cruise control, trip/mileage computers, tilt steering, a 6-CD changer in-dash, steering wheel controls for audio and the digital climate control, Homelink garage door opener system, and any other luxury item (except factory navigation) that you could think of. It has a nice set of light 16" aluminum wheels with okay-condition tires; unfortunately, I do NOT have the wheel center caps, but you can purchase those easily/inexpensively enough. All 5 of the doors open and close just as they should, and even the hood still opens and closes and latches. The headlights were not broken, but surely some of their mounting tabs were (and are likely repairable if you don't want to replace the headlights just because of the tabs). The windshield is still perfect, and even has the current inspection stickers on it (expire at the end of September). Obviously, without getting into it, I cannot be 100% sure of what you'd need to make the car perfect again, but if you consider that the airbags, doors, engine, suspension, etc. were unaffected, this car is a really good starting point. Before my wife purchased the new red one, I found a seller on eBay offering a complete front clip just a couple hundred miles from here in the same exact color...no painting necessary. I have NO relation to the seller (and personally, think his price is high), but if you're interested, it's item number 160445901327. Our Prius is well worth saving as it was in such great shape and was so well cared-for in all of its years. It received regular dealer maintenance, including full-synthetic oil changes every 5,000 miles or less (far better than what is recommended). We have the car's full history from new (including the time prior to our ownership) as well as every service record from our time with the car. In fact, I'm so fanatical about maintenance and pride of ownership that we even have receipts for EVERY single gallon of gas that was ever put into the car during our ownership. In terms of MPG, I averaged in the low 50s and my wife the high-40s as I tend to drive more conservatively - and she liked to use the A/C! We have friends that have gone 300,000+ miles with their Prii, and with a little bit of work to get her back on the road again and continued regular maintenance, this one will likely go that far, too. You're welcome to come inspect the car if you're local, or for those at a distance, you're welcome to hire and send over an independent mechanic if you'd like. This is a great car and I want you to see and know that for yourself. I do have a truck and trailer and can deliver to you if you need/want me to, but please get in touch to discuss that and work out a price and logistics before bidding. I can be reached through eBay's messaging system or on my personal cellphone at 516.983.FIAT for any questions you have or to set up a time to come and see the car. Thanks and good luck bidding. THE SOURCE: We own and maintain a collection of over 100 cars, primarily European. Additionally, we've acquired many former Fiat, Lancia, Bertone, Pininfarina, Volvo, Triumph, GM, and other dealer inventories over the past 20 years. This is our specialty. Be sure to see "Seller's Other Items For Sale" link above right or visit our store for more great deals on rare vintage cars and parts. WHO WE ARE: FiatLancia is a family-run entity specializing in original equipment manufacturer (OEM) classic/vintage parts for (primarily) European automobiles, but we also offer some other items for which we need to find new homes. We have purchased many dealership inventories over the past twenty-plus years, so in some cases these are new old stock (NOS) parts, but almost all are OEM. We simply offer these sometimes rare parts to enthusiasts like us out there that need them, just as we buy what we need (and like) on eBay ourselves. We're not a commercial operation or a formal company, just dedicated car enthusiasts: in addition to the dealership inventories, we maintain a collection of over 100 cars, including show winners, drivers, restoration candidates, and parts cars. We're very active in club activities, attending car shows and other club events nearly every weekend between May and October. FiatLancia also restores and sells complete cars custom-tailored for individual clients, specializing in Fiat Spiders and X1/9s. OTHER PARTS: Please click here or on the little red door just to the right of my eBay name and feedback rating above to visit our eBay store and see all the other great items we're offering. You can check our other auctions if you click here or on the "Seller's Other Items" link above on the right. Please click here or on the word "FiatLancia" under the "Seller info" heading above right if you would like more information about us and the cars we are currently dismantling. Please consider adding us to your "Favorite Sellers" list as we'll be listing parts from our purchased inventories and parted-out cars as well as other sources. Contact us via eBay's messaging system ("Ask a question" above right) and we can reply with our personal email address and/or phone number if you'd like to get more information via email or phone. OUR TERMS: Pay quickly. That's all I'm allowed to say about payments without violating any policies. In person pick-up is welcomed on any item, especially larger/heavier items, where pickup may be an absolute requirement. We may be able to assist with in-person delivery as we do travel often, but this should NOT be assumed, advance arrangements MUST be made and you MUST receive written (email) confirmation from us PRIOR to the end of the auction. Otherwise, buyers will be responsible for shipping costs, and items will be shipped via United States Postal Service within one or two days once payment is received. The eBay shipping calculator is not always accurate but we try our best to estimate and input measurement/weight data as best we can. Packaging, handling, crating, and other "fees" are NEVER charged for normal, easily-shipped items. Happy to combine items in a single package (where possible) to lower shipping costs for you. Engines, transmissions, windshields/glass, body panels, bumpers, seats, and other large items will be pick-up ONLY, but there are companies out there (such as UShip.com, for example, where we are also registered under the same name) that may be able to help you out with getting large items delivered. We are willing to work with you should you need to hire such a carrier (scheduling, meeting, helping load, etc.) but all such arrangements are solely the buyer's (your) responsibility. We're enthusiasts like you and are happy to help however we can. Our 10-plus-years of buying and selling on eBay and our feedback rating attest to the fact that we're there for you. Bid confidently!
