Trucks are one of my favorites. Those of you who have me added as a favorite seller know that I search the country for the coolest, nicest pickups to drive, enjoy, and offer for sale.
This 1964 F100 was purchased from a collection with other trucks, a killer Ford Convertible, a Cessna airplane, a forklift, and more.
It is a clean old truck, and has been driven regularly for the past 15 years, for short trips to town, and even a few longer cruises.

DESCRIPTION
What do you say about a truck that defies description? It’s harder than you think. Even for my long-winded butt!
This truck has not been “restored”. It hasn’t been customized or modified into a “Hot Rod” or anything like that.
No, for the last 20 odd years of its life, it has been driven locally, maintained to the Nth degree, and kept around as a fun little cruiser to take into town, run errands, and haul light loads with.
It looks fantastic, and has more character and charm than you can shake a stick at!
The paint is still glossy and slick looking, even though it was redone some years back. That’s because it has been stored inside an aircraft hangar all that time, and not left outside like most of them.
The truck was born and raised in the South, and it shows when you look at the clean and straight body on it. Not to say it doesn’t have some marks, issues, or signs of wear….the 75 extra-large photos will show a little of that from years of being driven and used, but overall the truck is a really solid machine, and ready to go to work for YOU!
Brightwork and trim is all pretty nice, with the typical patina you’d expect from the original bits and pieces.
Glass is all good, and while not PERFECT, it is crack free all around, including the aftermarket siding rear window.
Weather stripping, moulding, fuzzies, etc., are all in pretty darn good shape too.
Grill is painted and shows great.
It rolls on alloy wheels that are solid and true, even if they show a little patina from being used.
Tires are in great shape, and are P235/75R15 white walls all around.
The bed is wood that has been painted and sealed, and the large plastic storage bin is great for keeping tools and other gear out of the elements.
Tail gate opens and closes like it should.
The prior owner said that the motor is the original 262 Mileage Maker inline 6 cylinder the truck was born with, and he purchased it believing the mileage to be correct, although Florida has a bad habit of putting EXEMPT on titles that are older than 15 or so years, so that is the case with this one. The working odometer shows 43,198 on it.
The engine starts right up, idles smooth, and has a working manual choke actuated from inside the cab.
The three-speed manual snicks into gear on the column shifter, and the truck goes into action without any complaints.
It cruises along really nice at 50-55 mph, but will go a little faster, even though it probably wouldn’t be prudent to cruise at those speeds long term. Keep in mind, 70mph was a dream speed back in the day, and cars were not geared for it.
In town, and on the back roads, this truck drives like it was 1964 all over again!
It tracks straight, handles great thanks to the new style radial tires, and performs like it should.
The four-wheel drum brakes are in great condition, but the left front caliper will stick under hard braking sometime, so it may need some attention. I sprayed it down with cleaner to loosen it up, and it is fine under normal braking, but if you really lay on the pedal, it will pull to the side.
Other than that, everything else about the truck is pretty drama free!
It runs cool, even in the hot Florida summer sun, and I have probably put about 45 miles on it myself without issue.
Keep in mind, the prior owner drove this thing A LOT, and it was stored inside an airplane hangar when not being used.
Tranny and clutch feel solid and tight, and the gear changes are easy to perform.
The interior is very clean, and the seat is a tobacco brown vinyl with vinyl floor mats to protect the deck.
Dash is clean and painted and the glove box opens to reveal the included original owner manual.
There is a modern AM/FM/CD player installed, with four speakers, and a heater box is under the dash as well.
This truck is a perfect way to get into the collector car hobby without breaking the bank, and is a great start to a Hot Rod project too.
It would be BEST suited for just driving and enjoying though. That is what the last owner did for over two decades, and the truck really is a drama free way to enjoy a clean and classic collectible truck.
