FOR SALE: 1997 993 C4S Coupe Available for sale is this 1997 993 C4S Coupe, VIN WP0AA2995VS320957, finished in arena red over gray leather. This is a California car from new, that was used as a daily driver by the prior owner for six years. The car has 162,500 miles on the odometer, but looks, runs and drives like a 60,000 mile car. With a recent full service in our shop, this is an excellent driver-level C4S that can be enjoyed immediately, without worrying about the financial impact of additional miles. The car was optioned with the following items, as reflected on the option sticker which remains intact on the bottom side of the hood: 09991 manufacture from the exclusive-programme; 437 Comfort seat left; 438 Comfort seat right; 454 Automatic speed control; 490 Hi-Fi sound system; 650 Sunroof; 688 Radio cd CDR210; 939 Soft leather rear; 982 Supple Leather Seats/Trim; C02 Equipped with catalytic converter. The car has silver-faced gauges, wood-grain emergency brake lever and shift knob trim and yellow brake calipers, which may have been included as part of the exclusive program option code. The paint shines up nicely, showing some wear and signs of use, and evidence of some paint work in the passenger rear quarter. The front bumper cover is likely repainted, as it shows too nicely to be original for a car with the indicated mileage, but the remainder of the front end could be original paint. We have touched up some scratches on the rear bumper cover. We see no signs of any prior accident damage, and all gaps are even and consistent. The glass is good throughout the car, with no apparent chipping, scratches or delamination, but the windshield has a small crescent shaped crack about 1.5" in length. We repaired a broken door stay when the car arrived in our facility, and both doors close with the customary quality Porsche feel. The interior is in very good condition and shows wear consistent with a much lower mileage car. The front seats remain smooth and supple in grey leather, showing minimal bolster wear, and no cracks, tears or splits at all. One of the cables for the passenger seat mechanical adjustment is broken and not working correctly, we have ordered some new parts and this will be repaired. The rear seats, also leather, appear to have been rarely used. One of the rear seat belt receivers appears to be missing the cover. The carpet is very good, with no excessive wear. The headliner is in excellent shape. The steering wheel, dash shift knob and other interior components are all in very good condition and indicative of a much lower mileage car. An aftermarket radio is installed and the gauges have silver faces. All gauges and interior lights function correctly. The airbag service light is currently illuminated. The engine in this car runs extremely well, with minimal smoke on start-up and excellent power. The car was placed in non-op status last year and has seen limited use in the last 24 months. When we acquired the car, we performed a full service, replacing the fluids, filters and plugs, and a few other wear items. The steering rack assembly was leaking, so it was rebuilt, and the car received a four-wheel alignment. Tires appear to be near new with significant tread remaining, but are date coded from 2008. We have some service records, including the replacement of the clutch with an RS unit (including lightened flywheel) at 111,000 miles in 2008, and some routine maintenance items, but nothing else of significance. The car does not exhibit any CEL or SAI port issues. The transmission shifts well though all gears and does not make any unusual whining sounds, however there is a slight grind upon downshifting from 2nd to 1st at speed, which may suggest either a new clutch is warranted or a synchro may be needed.
