Vehicle Detail

This is a good running and driving Westy van that could use a complete restoration, or just make improvements while you drive and enjoy it! There are various dents and scrapes on the body and bumpers, and there is rust perforation in the front floor from water pooling from open windows, and one rust bubble at the lower left corner of the windshield, but there is no other rust other than light surface rust on areas where paint has worn off. The front of the vehicle has some filler which has cracked and come off in spots. The interior is complete and functional, and the seats were recovered at some point in the past, but there are now some small tears and the driver's seat has splits. The wood veneer is peeling in spots, and some plastic trim will need replacement. The roof canvas is good but has water stains and a small tear near the left hinge. The passenger window does not roll down more than a few inches and needs a crank. The door panels are missing some clips. The sliding door is hard to latch and will need adjustment or possibly replacement of the latch. The inside rear view mirror and left outside mirror are loose. The tools are present under the passenger seat, as is the original owner's manual in fair condition. There is a replacement AM-FM CD player in the dash, as well as added oil pressure and temperature gauges that are not hooked up. The speedometer, odometer, and gas gauge all work well, but I assume the mileage is not actual. There are some cracks in the dash. The engine runs well, the transmission shifts properly, and the clutch feels good. The brakes operate well. There is an oil leak at the rear main seal that leaves a few drops of oil on the ground when parked overnight. The turn signals are not working, and the left front marker was damaged and removed. The van was originally sold in Gardena, California, and stayed in California until 2007. It has been in Colorado and New Mexico since then. Tom Hitch, Automotive Resources, Santa Fe, New Mexico. On Jul-27-13 at 08:16:57 PDT, seller added the following information: I have reduced the Buy It Now price because I found on a test drive on the highway yesterday that the van does not have enough power to drive more than 60 mph on level roads, and on up grades the speed dropped to 40 mph. This is most likely due to low compression, so the engine will have to be rebuilt to restore normal power to drive at highway speeds.
