1978 Pontiac Trans Am6.6L / 400CID / AutomaticMartinique Blue (rare color)***No Reserve*** I recently acquired this Trans Am. It had been sitting for five years. I drained out the old gas and put in new and it started right up. The car runs and drives but it does needs a tune-up and carburetor adjustment because it is running very rich. I was told this is a non-numbers matching motor. The odometer shows 80k which might be accurate according to available service receipts. The body is showing signs of rust (see pictures) including the rear drivers side frame rail. There is a noise from the rear end which could be a bearing but should be checked by your mechanic. It had a repaint at some point - probably Maaco (less expensive). According to the original build sheet (see picture) this is a true Martinique blue TA. I don't know much history on this vehicle but it has not been abused. Some one else asked how much a total restoration would cost using vintage parts and I am not a restorer so I can not answer that. I think if you want a show car you need to find a car with little or no rust and start from there. This car has rust so there is body work to be done. It does run and drive - I go 5-10 miles during the week but I would not drive it a long distance (remember it sat for years). Someone asked the "reserve price" and there is No Reserve".
