Selling my 1980 Jeep CJ-5 Renegade with no reserve. This Jeep has been located in North Texas for all the life I know about (last 2 owners). Has the GM 151 "Iron Duke" engine and a 4 speed manual transmission. Shifts and runs fine. It is my goal to take as many pictures as possible so that you have a good idea about what you are bidding on. I did not have the undercarriage or engine steam cleaned so that you will know right where she leaks at. I am posting links to youtube videos of the engine starting, running, and revving. I am also posting videos of me giving it a drive and shifting through the gears. As this has a lot of original components and the original engine, there are some leaks. I check oil frequently but have not yet had to add oil. The jeep just leaves a few drops of oil on the garage floor. I have owned the jeep for about 2 years, using synthetic oil and new spark plugs each year. Engine has many original components and though I always planned on overhauling the engine, it has never quit running on me and gets me where I need to go. Manual choke installed to replace original electric choke long ago. I have used this jeep to get around town and out to the farm and it has done so without complaint. Odometer functions and reads 56,867. It seems to run faster than it should, so I will not to claim these miles are exact. Engine appears original with a few field repairs and some wiring for towing lights, I have never tested these and are not sure if they work. Starts up with a little choke and a little gas and runs great after a few minutes of warming up. I engaged the 4X4 last week for a local looker and everything worked fine. 4x4 indicator on dash works. 1 year old seats, seat belts, engine belt, dash, and bikini top. The only rust came from wet floor mats that were left in the jeep at some time, causing a some light rust in the floorboards. Fenders and frame appear to be rust free or contain only a little surface rust. Floorboard rust was wire brushed, coated with POR 15, and then top coated with a bed liner material. Small rust on the wall next to the floorboards was treated with POR 15, patched, and painted. I took several pictures to show the patches as well as pictures from underneath the floorboards. Jeep was painted with Krylon ultra flat khaki to protect body with new vinyal decals. I have what appear to be the original doors, but they are in worn condition. They and all the hardware I have for them come with the jeep, along with my two repair manuals and an original 1980 Jeep catalog. I will give a $25 discount to the deal if you do not want the manuals. This is a personal sale. The Jeep is currently registered and titled in my name. Title is clean, clear, and in hand.
