Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 2008 Saab 9-3 2.0T (The big T!) This is my 14th Saab. I started owning them when I was around 198and have absolutely loved every one I've had. My father was a GM man for years, but I eventually converted him and he ended up owning a pair of convertibles. I purchased this car last year and immediately took it to Joseph Chermak Saab in Clarks Summit where it was completely gone over by their mechanics, all recalls were performed and service bulletins were completed as the vehicle was still under warranty. (Hey, why not use it up if you have it??) I had intentions of having the ECU tuned, so I thought it best to make sure everything was up to snuff before making changes. Once she was home I logged onto the Saabnet forum and researched ECU tuning. I ended up settling on www.brewcityboost.com as they had great reviews and don't maximize performance at the cost of longevity or reliability. The big T cars come with 210 horsepower stock, which was great...but who wouldn't want another 57 horsepower?? The tune is a stage II tune that required an open air filter as a supporting modification. Prior to getting the ECM back I installed a set of iridium plugs, a new cabin air filter, and a K&N air filter element. With the ecotec direct injection engine and the tune....it a little gray rocket ship with a total of 267 hp! I recently replaced the factory PIrelli all season tires (somehow they lasted until 80K miles) with a set of General G-MAX AS 03 all season performance tires. IThe new tires have around 800 miles on them and perform extremely well in water, which was one of the complaints I had about the Pirellis. I installed ceramic brakes in the front and rear and just changed the oil with Mobil 1 synthetic and a FRAM Extraguard filter. The only reason I'm selling is because a friend has an Audi A8 I've always wanted that he's willing to sell if I can send the Swedish to a new home. Don't worry, I still have a Saab SUV to satiate my Swedish hunger. The exterior is in great condition with a pair of small door dings and one scrape beneath the front bumper where the previous owner scraped a parking curb. Pics of the flaws are in the listing. The interior is in excellent condition and the car comes with every available option short of navigation. I particularly like the parking assistance and the added comfort of the OnStar system for when I don't have cellular coverage. The HID headlights and rain sensing wipers are awesome. It has the BOSE concert audio with an in dash CD changer, complete with two amplifiers and the XM radio for audiophiles. All windows are one touch up....and down, which is a great idea in my opinion. I'm not sure why the car has dual climate control....I mean, you're sitting a foot away from the driver when you're a front seat passenger! The climate control works perfectly and I absolutely have to mention the best feature I've ever found in a Saab in all these years. The center console/arm rest slides forward and reverse on a rail system to make the driving position comfortable for anyone. Turbos are great, so are heated seats and XM Radio, but have a comfortable elbow really seems to make me smile for some reason. The pictures aren't the greatest due to the time of day I took them. My camera has a flaw in the lens and puts a small blemish in the lower portion of all of the pictures. I assure you, it's not a coffee statin on the seats or any other part of the car. If you have any questions, please drop me a line and I'll sort you out. Thanks for looking!
