Here we have a clean, un-molested, 1997 Mustang Convertible, with less than 83k on the odometer. Considering it has not been garaged.. this car shows pretty damn well. I purchased this car in 2001, for my daughter who has driven it very sparingly in all that time. When I say "sparingly" I mean we got the car with 50k miles on it. 32k miles in 12 years, is barely driving it. Of course it helps when her job is literally 8 blocks from our home. During our ownership of the car we have replaced the usual maintenance suspects.. Plus the top was replaced about 4 years ago due to dry rot. This car is ridiculously reliable, starts strong, stops well, goes through the gears effortlessly, and has no shakes or shimmys. That being said, I would Probably replace the tires soon, and the battery as well. The tires are at about 50% tread life, and the battery, while still cranking strong... is just plain old. (Can't remember when we replaced it) The car has AC, but it has stopped working. All the components are there, but it just doesn't blow cold. Its a bit rare to find these cars in original condition, with mileage this low. Most of them have been modified and abused with 120-150k miles on the clock. Even though the paint is starting to flake off in some spots, it still looks really good. There is no rust on it anywhere. With a paint job, and some sexy rims, this car would be a real head turner with the reliability of that little fuel injected 3.8l To be honest it gets compliments as it is. You will not be disappointed in this car at this price. In good condition, Kelley Blue book lists this car for 6414.00 Private sale. We have the reserve set closer to the trade in value which is considerably less. A deposit of 500.00 at close of sale is expected. Certified check, or Money order only.
