You are looking at a 2001 Ford E-450 Thomas School Bus with a 7.3 liter turbo diesel engine. At the end of this past school year we decided to close our business and are now liquidating assets. This bus is designed for 24 passengers at three to a seat. However, I installed another bench seat in the very back which now allows a total of 27 at three to a seat. All seats have three seat belts with the exception of the seat I installed; it only has two. All the seat belts are tucked under the seats at the moment and are not visible in the pictures. The bus was previously owned and operated by a public school district in Georgia. I do not have any maintenance records from the school district. But public school districts usually spare no expense when it comes to proper maintenance. I bought the bus with 101,000 miles and have kept records since purchasing it. This bus has been extremely reliable and the only issue I have had was having to replace the starter which was relatively inexpensive. I also had the A/C repaired last summer and it has worked very well ever since. I used it from the beginning of May until school ended this year and it keeps the bus cool. The tires are about a year old and I've put about 20,000 miles on them. I've also had an aftermarket CD player and speakers installed which have worked very well. The two speakers are on the ceiling and the CD player is shown in one of the photos. Both the speakers and the CD player will be included with the bus. The only problem with this bus is the transmission. It shifts from first gear to second, third and fourth no problem. But when you put it in reverse, it takes about five seconds to engage before you can backup. At some point within the next six months the transmission needs to be looked at.
