2000 Ford F350 4 door extended cab XLT 7.3L Turbo Diesel DRW, 2WD – The King of towing! This truck has never been used as a work site vehicle. Both myself and the first owner used it for the same purpose – to tow long distance with trailers filled with race cars. I purchased the truck in 2001 from the original Canadian owner as a package involving a switch of trailers. The greatest compliment I can pay to this truck is a story of a long tow from Chicago to San Francisco – The goose neck 48Ft. trailer was loaded with 3 race cars, several spare engines and 3 tool kits, spare wheels etc.. In Arizona we passed over the DOT scales at 22,500 Lbs. (10 tons and some change). Most of the journey was done at a steady and very stable 70 MPH, but somewhere in the flat open area of Arizona, boredom set in. Tired of being overtaken by truck after truck, we decided to latch onto one, and for 30 astonished miles, we followed in his wake at 100 MPH ! When we finally arrived at Lagoona Seca we were faced with the windy steep hills to the infield area. No problem for the F350, we had to back off to stop it engaging 3rd gear on the hills ! The king of towing …………… Please Note ! This is a USA assembled (Kentucky) unit destined for Canada originally, so the Speedo primary marking is in KPH with a secondary in MPH, and the Odometer records Kilometers and not Miles. When the vehicle registration was transferred to Illinois, IL DOT insisted on entering the recorder Odometer reading (126,000 Kms.) by converting it to mile – 78,750 Miles. In the Carfax record, this entry is identified as an “Odometer discrepancy”, as the previous entry is for an Odometer reading of 123,784. The current Odometer reading (still in Kilometers) is 181,036, which converted is 113,147 Miles. Hood bug deflector Winter condition kit including 110V AC block heater Class 4 Hitch with 2.5” receiver (sleeved down to 2” receiver) Class 4 trailer electric brake control with digital output display and variable control ADDED OPTIONS Cover Master Inc. fiberglass cap with opening side glass tinted windows and incorporated bug screens Central bed (removable) 5th wheel for Gooseneck trailer hitching SERVICE RECORD Other than a couple of Oil changes performed during long trips, this vehicle has always been serviced by my local Ford Dealership (Zimmerman’s in Saint Charles, IL). During my period of ownership only a few issues have occurred with this truck and I list them below – 69,165 Kms (43,228Miles) – Crankshaft Position Sensor overheated - replaced under warrantee 123,784 Kms (77,365 Miles) – The fuel pump overheated – replaced under warrantee 160,000 Kms (approximate, 100,000 Miles) – new front rotors, wheel bearings, pads, and service exchange calipers (one caliper seized due to corrosion) 170,000 Kms (approximate, 106,250 Miles) – new rear rotors, pads, and service exchange calipers (replace seized caliper) Batteries replaced Spring 2012 Rear tires replaced at 180,000 Kms (112500 Miles) in late June 2013 with Hankook Dynapro HT (correct OEM size and specification tires!) The tailgate was replaced after we inadvertently bent it arguing with the trailer gooseneck. Unfortunately the replacement (non-OEM) rusted through within 8 years. This was replaced in 2011 with a genuine Ford OEM tailgate. At the same time the Drivers door was repainted to rectify a deep scratch in the door. KNOW BODY INTERIOR & MECHANICAL ISSUES The truck is generally in tip top running condition, but for the fussy owner, there are a couple of small issues that should be addressed (no great urgency) The front tires are now approximately 8 years old and need replacing, with the wheel alignment being checked at the same time (Approximate total cost $370) There is a Quarter size shallow dent in the passenger door (see photo) – paint not damaged. There are several small nicks in the tailgate (through to color coat, but not down to bare metal. (see photo) There are absolutely no blemishes in the cloth upholstery or carpets, and they are both clean and presentable There are four small holes drilled in the dash to the right of the Instrument panel from an earlier fitment of a cell phone bracket The front (aluminum) wheels have some surface corrosion – these could be re-dressed when the tires are replaced (I was quoted $120 per wheel for this service locally) There are no known Mechanical problems – the engine starts easily and runs as strongly as the day it was new, and the transmission changes smoothly and vice free. There are no fluid leaks , or loss/consumption of coolant, transmission fluid, rear axle oil, or engine oil. There are no known body corrosion issues OTHER MAJOR COMMENTS There is no Lien on the vehicle, and I have a clear Illinois title The vehicle has never been accident repaired (any body repairs have only been to rectify minor scratches or small dents from occasional “parking lot rash”) The vehicle was very occasionally used in Winter snow conditions, but normally is only used in Summer.
