Car bought and lived its life in Orange County, until I brought it to San Diego. Alpine head unit in car with 6 kenwood speakers (in door panels and package tray behind seat). Factory V-8 and drive train swap. These cars where only available in 61 with an inline 6 and shift-o-matic trans. Car now has 289 V8, C4 3 speed automatic transmission and an 8.8 inch, 5 lug rear out of 68 mustang. Brand new differential professionally installed last year. All four brakes have been rebuilt and replaced. All new lines, drums, shoes and cylinders. Under the hood appears factory original if Ford installed a V8, a new holley 600cfm, vac secondary electric choke carburetor and edlebrok duel plane manifold are hidden beneath the air cleaner. The generator was just replaced with an internally regulated modern 3G 200 amp alternator. The 289 has retained its cast exhaust manifolds but true duel exhaust and HiPo mufflers are installed. Not to quite, but not annoyingly loud. It sounds like you think it should. An electronic ignition module is hidden in the distributor cap. This car fires right up and is as reliable as anything on the road. It has made the 500 mile round trip to Santa Barbara 3 times this year and I would not hesitate to do it again. Interior is in excellent condition but shows some use. The body is in its original 61 paint and no body filler is in the panels. Lower rear quarters could use a patch and hood has rust in the usual falcon spots. Car gets about 14 mpgs and cruises comfortably at 70 mph. Dash lights, vacuum wipers, and heat works perfectly. Electric wiper motor and switch are included along with new floor pans. Placing a bid on this car is an agreement to purchase so please do not bid if you are not prepared to come pick it up. I can drop it off at a truck depot for shipping, but any involvement more than that is not going to happen. Please ask any question you may have. Car is listed locally, I reserve the right to end auction early. Car is in good enough shape to drive now or to give you a big head start on a restoration.
