Vehicle Detail

I'm selling my unfinished project '68 Mustang Fastback that I've owned for 15 years. It has been in storage for the last 9 years. Work and family have put this on the back burner for the last decade or more and has finally convinced me to sell it. The car has been kept in closed dry storage in West Texas and Colorado Springs for the entire 15 years. It has a clear Texas title in my name. I don't have the door hinge VIN plate but have the factory plate under the hood with VIN# as well as body stamped with VIN# by the front fenders. It has a 351 Windsor bored over 30 thousandths with a C6 automatic transmission. The engine was put in 9 years ago, but the finishing touches/tuning was never completed. No exhaust was installed and the headers run straight to the ground. The engine probably has less than 30 minutes of runtime on it, but after 9 years in storage the battery has gone bad and starter's solenoids have possibly seized up and it will not crank-over, so engine does not currently run. It has 3.0 posi-track rear end, rebuilt drum brakes, and working parking brake. The interior of the car was never fully restored. The only things I replaced were the carpet, front seats, steering wheel, and shifter. The car has manual steering, no air conditioner (was not stock), no radio or speakers and a no original console. The heater works, but the box needs repair. The cars exterior body is in excellent shape with no dents. I did have some rust cut out of the rear quarter panels and passenger side floorboard and new skins and flat plate welded in along with paint and body work back in 1999. The car has never been buffed or polished since painting, but has endured a couple minor scratches and paint chips over the years moving it around in storage. There are a few known defects on the exterior of the car. The chrome molding on the trunk has some crimps. The chrome trim above the passenger side window has a small dent. Passenger window has some chips in the glass. Windshield has scratch from a bad windshield wiper. A couple dimples in the chrome trim around the grill. The underside of the hood and surrounding engine compartment has some oil spatter baked on as well as minor rust and paint flaking. Now to the terms of the sale... Please ask any and all questions (big or small) prior to placing a bid. Study the pictures closely. Before bidding, think it over and discuss with whom you must. Remember, most banks won't loan on something of this age, so please have money secured before bidding. Serious buyers only. The car is sold as is. The buyer is responsible for all transport/shipping arrangements and costs. Please do not bid if you don't have the money available. A $1,000 (non-refundable) deposit is required within 24 hours of end of auction via PayPal only. The remainder is due within 7 days of auction end. A cashiers check or money order is the preferred payment method. A bank wire transfer can also be arranged if needed. The car will not be released nor title signed until payment has cleared the bank. If deposit is not received within 24 hours via PayPal, the car will be re-listed. Good luck bidding!
