Vehicle Detail

1969 Corvair Convertible “One of the most exciting , interesting, collectable, post war cars there is” per J. Leno: (www.jaylenosgarage.com/video/1966-chevrolet-corvair-corsair/128797/ ). You just need more space and time then I currently have. History – engine was built in an Arizona shop in 1992; has 3800 miles on it; built with a custom ground Crane cam (one of a kind , designed by R. Wean); carburetion modified with the Holly 350. Engine had been stored properly although the headers are rusted. Car body was also resurrected in Arizona; assembled and driven to Ohio. Vehicle was driven a short time (about 3900 miles on the vehicle) and then stored for the last 20 years. Current overall condition is rough in spots (due to poor storage and critters) – Rust in spots and paint lifted in spots; Battery Tray area and floor pan under rear seat needs work. All areas of the car will need some attention (body , interior, chassis mechanical and electrical). Recent work in last two years: The Fuel tank has been cleaned and sealed (POR15); new inline fuel pump; front brake lines replaced; Holly carb rebuilt with all new seals/gaskets; suspension bushings replaced. Sale includes a lot of the extra parts needed to finish including, front and rear vent grills, chrome trim, bezels, Dash Cluster - have both a Monza or Corsa (needs assembly of gauges) cluster, heat ducts, and more. Sale ALSO INCLUDES additional 140 engine ready for your own custom rebuild. So, this little gem needs some time and love - rust repair, paint job, interior refinish, but if you’re looking for a nice project and fun car to drive you’ll be rewarded with a great little car. Car is being sold with a clear title, as is, with many extra parts. If you have questions please ask and contact. $200 deposit required within 3 days of winning bid. Full payment and car pick up within 7 days of winning bid. Buyer must arrange vehicle transport. On Jul-06-13 at 05:07:57 PDT, seller added the following information: I've updated the posting with photos of Fisher Body Tag. This should answer questions on original color and factory options. When I got this car it had No paint - was fully stripped sheet metal with no engine. Engines are not original to this car. The car is not drivable at this time - should be towed or put on a trailer when picked up. Since the original posting I've added many additional boxes of parts such as new grommets and boots (Clark's Corvair) as I keep cleaning out the project area. Hope this helps the rest of you bidding on the vehicle.
