For sale is one absolutely fun to drive VW! I bought this Cabriolet right here on eBay late last year. But I have too many cars and we're getting ready to move cross country so I need to sell this one. After I bought this from an eBay'r in Iowa for $990, I had a local shop there to replace the top with one that I bought (again) here on eBay and had shipped to the shop. When I picked the car up to drive home, four other things were immediately apparent that had to be fixed soon. 1) The exhaust system was about to fall off, 2) the gas tank leaked, 3) the speedometer cluster and dash was in terrible condition, and 4) the shift linkage was in serious need of restoration as I could hardly get it in 1st gear. I got it home and made these and several other repairs. This includes 3 new motor mounts, new timing belt, new plugs, and I could probably list more. I replaced the speedometer cluster with a spare that I have so the mileage may be, and probably is more than what currently reads on the odometer. Basically, I have about $3000 in the car at this point. It does have a very strong engine as I suspect someone has modified the engine, probably with a good aftermarket camshaft as this car is much quicker than any other supposedly stock cabriolet that I have ever driven. The car is not perfect but will not disappoint you! With all of this said, I will say that I offer no warranty beyond what I specifically list above.
