Vehicle Detail

1957 Ford Thunderbird E-Code Dual Quad 312 Automatic LOW RESERVE!!! I am selling my 57 E-Bird to the highest bidder. This is a very nice car with low starting bid. All it needs to be a $60K is painted back to the original black color. Includes brand new fender skirts (still in box) and of course the original dual quad setup. Car was fully restored in late 1990's with the choice made to go with the brown metallic paint, lighter brown interior (REAL LEATHER SEAT, NOT IMITATION), with special gold anodizing and accents used on the interior, topped off with a dark brown vinyl top. Very striking, but just think of how it would look in the original black color! The car was owned and lived in California where it was restored as a show car in the late 1990's, then purchased by the next owner and stored for the most part, with it only being started to keep things fresh. Once the non-op fees kept piling up owner chose to continue to let it sit until he finally sold it. Since then it has been serviced and driven close to my home (rains to much in Portland, OR to really enjoy it often). Engine, trans and exhaust all have very low miles and it runs, shifts and drives perfectly. The dual quad was changed out to a standard four barrel for economy and easy of service, but the dual quad setup is with the car and comes with it, please see pictures. Air conditioning is all in tact and compressor is free but I have not tried to have it charged, I think that is all it will need. Power brakes and steering work perfect! The paint is a 6 or 7 due to flaws here and there due to sitting. I would consider this the only real issue with the vehicle, even though everyone still thinks it is a beauty and gives it the thumbs up. Minor bubbling under paint (not coming through) on sides of fenders etc. This car is not a rust bucket, just is an old paint job on a car that sat. Floors, trunk plans absolutely solid and like new! Bumpers are absolutely beautiful and flawless! This car can be driven anywhere, keeps dead steady temp all day long, great oil pressure etc. Based on my personal experience from over forty years of being an enthusiast I would guess the mileage on the car is original and first time around. No way to guarantee as I do not have the documentation but it is pretty likely given the two decades of no use. Has original wheels and caps on bias wide whitewalls. The little stuff: Clock not working, radio not working and it needs one knob on the heat control. Minor exhaust leak on drivers side manifold when cold, that dissipates when it warms up, needs a newer gasket is all. Can't recall anything else as it is good to go and I enjoy it as it is. Comes with chromed linkage for the dual quad setup as well. Original Data: Color Raven Black with a Colonial White Hardtop Trim Raven Black and Colonial White Pleated Seats E Code Dual Quad 312 Fordomatic Trans 3.10 Rear Axle Feel free to ask any questions, the earlier the better as it is hard to answer a lot of questions the last hour of the auction. This is a great opportunity to get an e-bird at a reasonable price. My wife loves the car and it is not a heart breaker if no one bids, but I am willing to do so at this time due to job changes and a wedding coming up, but if I make it through all of that and still have the car it will definitely get the paint job and price will then double, so this is your chance! Serious parties may email with their contact info if they wish. Please be respectful of how busy I am and only contact me if you have the desire and means to purchase the car! I am not a car dealer and do not rely on income from vehicles in any manner. I am just a car guy that loves automobiles and the beautiful lines and intrigue some cars offer! It is my hobby and how I enjoy life! Reserve price is almost $10,000 below LOW BOOK, so bid away and good luck!
