This is my 77 F250 4x4. She has a 429 Big Block V8 that was from a 1970 Lincoln. The motor runs strong. Has the D0VE-C heads, and a 4 bbl Edelbrock carb. Solid C6 Auto tranny, and the married NP-205 Transfer Case. This truck is a special heavy duty model. It has a GVRW of 8,100 lbs. The rear axle is a heavy duty Dana 60 with 4.10 gears and Limited Slip. It has the heavy duty dual piston caliper disk brakes on the front. It only has one gas tank, which is a 21 gallon tank under the bed between the frame rails (toward the back). It used to have one behind the seat, but it was removed and the filler hole was sealed with a rubber plug. An electric fuel pump was put in, and a cut off switch was installed in the dash. Tires are 35 x 12.5 Big O Bigfoot XT with about 50% tread on 16.5 aluminum rims. The hood was primered over the original paint before I bought it. The truck is solid and in pretty dang clean shape. The paint is not perfect, and the body is not in "show" condition, but it would be a great candidate for a restoration, or just drive as-is and have a really nice work truck. NO RUST! frame and body are cancer free (we don't salt the roads here in Oregon). Interior is all original, and the seat and dash are in excellent shape. Fires right up, drives nice, tons of power, will climb your neighbor's Prius like a speed bump! Tags are good til 06/2014, with a clean Oregon Title, and even still has the cool old yellow plates. Gets about 8 mpg in town, and averages right at 10 mpg on hwy trips at 65 mph. I have personally rebuilt the carb, tuned in the timing, replaced temp sensor, put in new master cylinder and booster, new rear brakes, new rear wheel bearings and wheel seals, new rear brake wheel cylinders, changed oil and diff fluid. I've had it for 2 years, and put maybe 2500 miles on it. Previous owner had it for over ten years and put roughly 1000 miles a year on it. Not sure what actual mileage is, but the truck runs good. The engine does burn a little oil, and has a small exhaust gasket leak at the manifold (weird I know haha). The valve stem seals are almost certainly the cause of the oil consumption (roughly 1 qt for every 2 tanks of gas). Not enough to have yet become a necessary repair for me. I love this truck, and it is the 4th one of this style that I have owned in my life. We just don't drive it enough anymore. I am a musician, and I travel a lot so I am looking to sell the Blue Betty and buy a Subaru Outback (good mpg car that I can haul my instruments with, and sleep in). So here we are.
