Vehicle Detail
For sales is my 1961 BMW R27 in very rare "Dover White". One of only 50 imported to the US. It is in great condition and runs very smooth (well, as smooth as a single thumper can haha). Starts on the second of third kick. If you know about these old beemers and the no choke carb you'll understand that there is no such thing as a first kick start on these. It was restores a couple of years ago with the basics including: - ALL hardware replaced with Bench Mark Works stainless steel hardware kit ($400.00 ouch!)- Original Bing carburetor rebuilt- Basic engine service with new plug and oil change- Fully repainted and hand pin-striped Things to disclose:The rear brake switch was constantly acting up. It has been replaced with a MBZ brake switch. This is pretty much the only non-original thing on the bike. (check pictures)The paint is chipped on the back of the right fork tube due to over travel and the fork smacking the frame. This is purely cosmetic. No metal damage. (check pictures) I Would not recommend this bike to the anti-social. Everywhere i park people stop and take a lap around it to inspect its classic beauty. Even the Harley and crotch-rocket guys throw me a thumbs up every time i take it out for a ride.
