Can-Am MX1 250 , Totally restored but with most original parts. This is the only Vintage legal Motocross bike Can-Am made in 74-75 as a 250 CC. With only 600 made, these are getting harder to find in any condition. I Buit this bike to race, but another injury let me only ride this bike 1 time at the National at Sugar Tree . This bike has been completely taken down and totally rebuilt from the ground up using the best available parts you can find. Frame and all black painted parts have been powdercoated and the original (very rare ) original pipe was ceramic coated. The engine was completely overhauled with all new bearings, seals and gaskets. Motor is so low hour that the original piston,rings and bore were left untouched with only cleaning of ports and matching to the cases. Original bing carb was overhauled, soda blasted and rebuilt to factory specs. Wheels are original and laced with Buchannon Stainless spokes and nipples. Brakes hubs were sent out to be machined and matched to new brake shoes for best possible stopping. New Michelin tires, all new cables,fuel and oil lines,Uni Air filter, Rotax clutch plates,original Magura controls with original correct lever covers. new chain and both sprockets,wheel bearings and seals. All original bolts and fasteners were either replaced with stainless steel hardware or zinc plated . Fenders are new and original side covers are original. Oil baffle was removed and tank cleaned before restoration. Ignition stator was sent out and reconditioned. Basically this bike was in Show condition before the one race it entered, there is one small tear at left rear of seat cover from my soil sample that led me to sell another one of my many can-Am restorations. I have raced and restored many of these white tank bikes since 1975. My last Can Am restoration was raced by Guy Cooper at Unadilla last year ! Contact me with any questions and Bid with confidence.
