Vehicle Detail
I purchased this car last year from a private seller. The car had been stored for over 10 years indoors. The plate on the car expired in 1999. It was my intent to restore this car an install a 3.0 or M5 engine. Both of them have been done before and there is a lot of "how to" information on the internet. This is a solid car with some rust. As far as I can see there are no holes in the floors. There is some rust in the rockers in front of the rear tires. The trunk is solid and there is a hole in the drivers side fender on the inside lip. I have tried to point out the areas that are in the worst shape, but ask any questions before you bid.The engine is not running, It will turn over with the starter (battery not included). I did manage to get it to fire by priming through the carbs but it did not run. This test was done to make sure the engine is free and to determine what it might take to get it started. My best guess is new wires, rotor cap, condenser, fuel filter and a cleaning of the gas tank and fuel line as well as the carbs would be the minimum. The interior is in need of restoration as you can see in in the pictures. The car has an automatic transmission and at one time had air conditioning. It is not installed and the compressor is included in the sale. The dash has a crack in it over the instrument cluster. All glass is clear with no cracks. The bottom of the doors show some surface rust but are solid. There are dents in both doors. The off color paint in the picture are someones attempt to stop further detoriation. Some people shouldn't be allowed near a paint can.It looks like the car has been repainted at one time as there are large area's where the paint has and is peeling off. It also looks like someone has put a patch on the back edge of the trunk where the 2800cs badging is normally located. Could be bondo.Overall the car is a solid candidate for restoration. This car is not currently running and you will need a trailer to pick it up. The car comes with the Michigan title when I bought it. I have not transferred this title into my name.$500 non refundable deposit required within 24 hours via PayPal.The balance is due on pickup or 14 days after sale, which ever comes first. This car is listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
