Vehicle Detail
2006 Dodge 3500 1 Ton, single rear wheels. Please read the description carefully before bidding! Truck was used most of the time to pull a 30’ fifth wheel delivery trailer. Damage to bed rails and tailgate reflects this usage. This truck was a piece of junk from the day that it was purchased. We have had nothing but trouble with it. It is painted white but probably should have been lemon yellow. The left front tire is the spare because the left front aluminum rim developed a crack and leaks air. Repair history is not available although it has been extensive and includes the injector pump, wheel bearings, and rear main seal. Recent repair history is as follows: - January 2013 replaced cracked exhaust manifold at approx. $1,000. - While on a delivery in February, the water pump failed. Emergency water pump and serpentine belt replacement at a Dodge dealership cost approx. $1,000. - Within 40 miles of this repair, the ‘wait to start’ light began coming on intermittently for short periods of time. Not too long after that, the ‘check engine’ light came on and stayed on. - Took the truck in to our local Dodge dealer where we were told that we have one bad fuel injector and that the ECM is bad. We were informed that a sensor had been connected backwards (positive and negative electrical connections reversed) when the water pump had been replaced but that this would not have caused the ECM to malfunction. - We declined to have the truck repaired and picked it up instead. Upon entering, a very strong fuel smell was present inside the cab. After driving the truck a short distance it was obvious that it was using a lot of fuel. Aside from almost being able to watch the fuel gauge drop and the incredibly strong diesel smell inside the cab, the engine and drivetrain were coated with fuel and fuel was dripping out from under the truck while the engine was running. - Called the dealer and they informed us that there was no way that anything they did to the truck while they had it could have caused this problem So this is how the truck now sits. We want to be very upfront in disclosing that we think the truck is good for parts. Starting bid amount is set accordingly at $5,000 and there is no reserve. What you see is what you get with no warranty. Thank you for looking and bidding!
