Vehicle Detail

This would be a great beach cruiser, show car, weekend top-down convertible or even a daily driver. Since the restoration, it has always been garaged and has never seen rain. No expense was spared when restoring this vehicle. The restoration was completed in 2008 at a total cost of over $18000. Due to a growing family, I've decided to sell our bug for a much, much lower price. I recently had it tuned up at a local VW shop and they gave it a thumbs up. All of their customers that came into the shop commented on how good it looked. This car is fun to drive, always turns heads and makes people smile. It has been driven less than 2500 miles since the restoration! The following items were replaced with high quality, new components:- 1776cc Torquemaster Engine Custom Built by Chico Performance Racing. ($4000 engine; Dyno tested at 93 hp) - Custom 2-tone paint job ($4300)- New floorpans- New fenders- New windshield- New bumpers- Fully Chromed Wheels ($850) and lug nuts - Rebuilt Convertible top, including all new quality wood, refinished frame, new pad, vinyl top and headliner- Repaired and recoated seat frames- New vinyl seat covers- Pioneer CD player with and ipod input. Kickpanel speakers and rear speaker box.- New pad and carpeting- Custom gauges (oil pressure, oil temperature, tachometer, alternator)- New fuel tank and flushed fuel lines- All new brake system- New front end bushings- Custom Grant wood steering wheel- New chrome window trim- New chrome exterior components- New, high quality dashboard and glovebox- All new weatherstripping- New tires- Chrome hood and rear engine lid hinges- New trunk liner- Fully functioning heater boxes- etc, etc, etc.... The CPR Torquemaster engine always starts right up, has nice power and built with the following specs: C.2. Crankshaft forged DPR 8 dowell, New Case AS41 Opened to 90.5mm and tapered for full flow, German rebuild connecting rods, TM10 Chico performance grind Norris racing lifters, Lightened flywheel, Gene Berg chromoly racing Gland nut, 8mm chromoly head studs, 90.5 Mahale pistons/cylinders with Grant rings, new 043 heads with 35.5 x 32 stainless steel valves and steel push rods, 26mm H.D. oil pump modified for full flow, 35mm dual solex carbs with electric chokes, new alternator, Sachs pressure late with Dankin Racing disk, hideaway muffer, The only issues I would resolve include readjustment of the front trunk and adjusting the tachometer. The front trunk has rubbed a small amount of paint off (see picture) and could use a hinge adjustment. The aftermarket tachometer configuration (DIP) switches need adjustment to display the proper engine speed. That just involves accessing the back of the tach and moving a few switches. Otherwise, this car is in excellent shape!
