I have been working on this bus since 2007. It has been a long labor of love. She is an incredible example of VW workmanship, fun and imagination. She has debuted in several local car shows and a few collector car show and auctions. She won "American Classic Award" just last year. She is a blast to drive, turns lots of heads and is the center of conversation where ever I take her. Oh yes her name is Stella Blue. She has a very cool history staring with a short gentleman Edward Eiles, nick-named "Shorty". The van was a US Spec European delivery. Shorty never brought her home until 1998. She is believed to have on 87,000 original miles and I can say from the restoration that this is probably true. The bus is mostly original underneath in suspension parts. She is tight in steering, shifts smoothly; reduction gears in place, new shocks now replace the original VW factory shocks. She was housed in Dymchurch, England while Shorty came back to the states in the Fall, Winter and Spring only to return to her for Summer rides through Europe. Her engine was upgraded in 1985 and transmission upgraded in 1987. She returned back to the states in November of 1998 and arrived in Savannah, Georgia. I am the third owner since he brought her back. She now needs a new loving homeā¦someone who will appreciate her. She will not disappoint! Shipping can be arranged to anywhere in the USA, I would advise an enclosed carrier. To my European buyers, we can ship to a port of your choosing; from there I would strongly suggest you hire a broker to get her safely home from there.
