This fun car runs very well. It was a gift to my son as his first car, however, it is not a good fit for him. We are looking to sell so we can purchase an automatic. We've just driven it periodically to the store this last winter and spring to make sure it doesn't sit too long. I haven't tested actual MPG, however, I put $10 gas in it once early winter and it's still going strong. It has never given us a problem starting. It seems the former owner took really good care of the car. So much fun to cruise around with the top down!This car has only had 2 previous owners. Original owner until 4/2012 and we purchased it in 1/2013 - 3rd owner is my ex-husband who purchased it for my son, and I am the 4th after the transfer of title. (Original owner held vehicle for 31 years).Below is what I know or is visible on the car. As mentioned earlier, it runs great and has not stalled or given us any issues in starting and running. ** Important** Odometer stopped working at 130,525, which looks like it was not long ago based on the milage at getting tires replaced in June 2012. - Leather seats (no rips or tears, one small burn on driver seat) - No radio installed - Driver door speaker not installed, but is available. I don't know if they work or not. - Heater and A/C and both seem to work fine - No broken windows - Original owners manual - New tires put on June 7, 2012, and showed milage at 130,378. Tires are still in great condition (have receipt) - Battery cable ends replaced on July 26, 2012 (have receipt) - Just replaced parts under gear shift - Headlamps/taillights needs to be replaced - Hatchback lock needs to be re-installed - we have the original (plus a backup) hatchback lock available - One of the window handles needs to be re-attached - handle is available - Exterior paint in good shape, top clear coat peeling (I believe this is original reddish brown paint - as I had the exact same color on my first VW Rabbit from 1974) - Very little rust on vehicle - Tear in back of convertible top under back window - otherwise top is in good condition - I would be happy to take additional photos and email them to you or answer any questions that I can - however, I am not a mechanic and won't be able to provide much information in regards to mechanics. Car is located in Colorado Springs, CO. Inspections are welcome prior to bidding. This really is a great car that needs some TLC.
