Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1985 Suzuki Madura GV700 Maroon This bike is a survivor in VG original condition. Tach still has the break-in sticker. 16,024 miles is all that is on it. I bought it out west in Colorodo in the winter of 2010 but did not get it on the road until I returned to Ohio in the spring of 2011. I am the third or forth owner is all. It doesn’t appear is ever been layed over or hurt in any way. It has a new tires and recent tune and carb set for low altitude now (summer of 2011). Currently tuned for the K&N air filter and rare Jardene performance mufflers designed for this bike. (It comes with the original mufflers too so it can be returned to original if desired). They checked the spokes and rims too and tweaked/trued them. The shop I bought it from in Colorado Springs installed new front tube seals. Clutch, trans, and shaft drive all work fine. I would say this is NOT a novice machine. This bike WILL GO!!! I’m only selling because even though I had the itch to ride again for 40 years and even went though Harley Davidson’s new rider course in the spring of 2011, I simply can’t get over the vulnerability now. Maybe I just got old, but my main ride is a 1 ton dually for a reason. I do not do well in little cars either. Well, I scratched the itch, but it needs to be ridden by someone else. It’s also a little tall for my 5’4” height and 28” inseam. The only blemish I know of is a scratch in the top of the tank it had when I bought it. It is under a studded bra and not visible in normal mode. The Maduras were only produced for 3 seasons (84, 85, and 86) in direct competition to the first Honda Magnas and were designed to out perform them. The GV 700 tops out at 145 mph and its big brother 1200 topped out at 163. They were advertised as THE fastest production motorcycle available in its day. The V4 engines though were produced for many more years and used in other models. They are collector pieces now and tend to have a following. Besides its styling, this was one of the reasons I liked it too. I am into it for $2700 with the carb rebuilds/rejets, tune up, K&N, Jardenes, and tires. Sacrifice with a starting bid of $2450. Buy it now of $2650. If you come by for a look, there currently is no license or insurance on it, so test (joy rides) are out. You can hear it run here in the yard, and you can follow me while I ride it down the road, but you can not take it out on the road until it’s yours. I’m also too much of a novice for you to ride with me. Since I don’t ride in a car with others… I’ll obviously not ride with anyone on a bike either. Its ready to ride and you can ride it home once paid for. Because this is eBay, I guess I need to say this… this is a 28 year old machine and obviously as such, it is sold AS-IS. The only thing I know it needs is new tubes as apparently the guy at the shop that did the new tires evidently nicked them. Rear will leak down in a few days, front in a few months. I have presented everything I know about it. In principle, I would suggest you make an appointment to come and check it out before bidding. Contact me through eBay.
