Vehicle Detail
I have an Awesome Scout II for sale. It has been mostly gone through and is a beast. It is turnkey and ready to go. I've owned several Scouts and this is by far my favorite. It has the venerable 345 that has been resealed. The motor is so clean that the oil still comes out clean when checking the oil and draining it (I can't even get my Jeep Wrangler to do that), also has great compression. I have also always added a quart above the recommended amount of motor oil which is suggested if you are going to do highway driving, which I do and it cruises great down the freeway. It has the 727 Automatic transmission that has been rebuilt and had a summit racing pan installed on it, it shifts nice and strong. The stock Holley 22XX carburetor was replaced with a very nice Holley 2300 2 Barrel out of a 3/4 ton 1210 International. The carburetor is awesome but the manual choke moves sometimes and needs to be adjusted. Just needs the electric choke. This Scout is in awesome shape and only has a few small minor things to be perfect. Most of the interior has been raptor lined, which make it tough and easy to clean. This truck has a lot of torque and good power for an International and cruises the freeway with ease and can pull a pretty heavy load. It is very easy to drive having the automatic transmission. There is a little bit of play in the steering but not bad at all. There is a small amount of bondo in the rear quarter panel and in the front floor. I took out the AC because it wasn't working and I never use it because I just take the top off when its hot. I also wanted to get rid of the hoses that went through the floor from the AC to help seal up the inside. I still have all the air conditioning stuff except for the compressor. The AC was connected to hoses that went through the floor so when I took the AC out I welded the holes shut and put a little bondo over them to flatten them out, I also put a little bondo in some dents in the floor. You can verify from the bottom that has no rust has eaten through anything and you can see the dents still. This is a very rust free Scout that has spent all its life in the desert. The bottom of the Scout is very nice, I put some raptor liner on the bottom and all the underside is perfect. This Scout also has a newer paint job and last week I decided to fix a dent in the rear quarter panel before I sell it. So since it has some new paint on it, it can't cant be waxed for 90 days. The Speedometer is not the original, the original broke so I replaced it with this one. The Scout has about 109,000 miles on it and the Speedo says 49,000, just take away 40,000. That's everything I can think of right now. If you have any questions just let me know. I will try to post a video sometime in the future of a start up and driving. Below is a list of the some of the additions to the scout and the positives and negatives. There is no warranty expressed or written. There is a $500.00 non refundable deposit due at the end of the auction. Regarding payment I will take Cash or Check but prefer a deposit through the bank. I can do Paypal for Deposit but would really prefer not too on the remaining balance because of their fees. Positives - 4 in Rough Country Suspension lift - Aftermarket Rims -31 Inch Tires in Awesome shape ( the rears have a little bit of white over spray on them from paint job) - Bilstein shocks ( I think the shocks need to be 2 inches longer because there is a good amount of bounce from leaf springs still) - Rancho steering stabilizer - Raptor lined Interior and top - Pioneer Stereo and Speakers also has 2 speakers in rear (has CD player and Auxiliary for phone or Ipod) - Best top front Seats (not collapsible) - Reupholstered rear bench seat with Diamond design in middle - Bumper with tow hitch receiver (Raptor Lined) - Front grill guard (Raptor Lined) - Sliding windows on removable top - Roll bar that is bolted in - Aftermarket overhead light on roll bar and on the removable top. - No rust has eaten through anything, the Body mounts are in perfect condition - Rocker Panel Decal from Scoutco ( it has been clear coated over) - Dana 44's with Disc brakes in the front (Put on brand New Pads less than 500 Miles Ago) - Grant steering Wheel (has a couple cracks in it) Negatives - Back up and turn signal lights don't work - Couple small chips and a couple tiny dents - a little bit of over spray of raptor liner on rear quarter panel and inside of front fender - The engine heat gauge doesn't move much and the speedometer bounces a fair amount On May-10-13 at 08:27:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Okay, I was able to record a video. On the camcorder and my computer the video is high quality but when it transferred to youtube it looks like I recorded the video with a brick. You can still get a good idea of how the engine sounds and how well the Scout drives. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLeYqhFrIto Also, its been raining here like crazy and I noticed that there is a spot behind rear wheel where a couple small rust bubbles have popped up. I talked to a body shop guy and he said it would be a $200.00 fix, which entails cutting out the rust and replacing it with new sheet metal. Because of this development I have reduced the reserve by $500.00. I have also added 4 pictures of the Scout with the top off using Flickr. Here is a link to the new pictures. http://www.flickr.com/photos/95621313@N02/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/95621313@N02/8726468018/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/95621313@N02/8725349131/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/95621313@N02/8725349555/in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/95621313@N02/8726467108/in/photostream This is a photo of the rust bubbles. This is the only spot where they are present and like I mentioned having it cut out and replaced is fairly easy to have done. If they Scout doesn't sell I will just get it fixed. http://www.flickr.com/photos/95621313@N02/8725367631/in/photostream On May-10-13 at 08:44:22 PDT, seller added the following information: There have been a few questions regarding the reserve. To be fair to everybody the reserve is 7,500.
