ONE OWNER 1st Generation 2000 Honda Insight with just over 48,000 miles! Certain to be one of the lowest mile 1st Generation Insights in the US. This is the highest rated automobile for fuel mileage ever rated by the EPA, rated at 61MPG city and 70 MPG Highway. Those who are reading this listing know they are capable of much higher MPGs with careful driving habits and a couple of easy modifications, some are even getting over 1000 miles per tank on regular unleaded gas! On a recent 40 mile stretch in this car, I averaged over 83 MPG and 73 MPG for around 60 miles. There is a science to driving these, and it takes a little while to learn the in's and out's. Thankfully there are tons of great resources/upgrades out there for Insight owners that can help you get more life and higher MPGs than ever thought possible. Why is Uncle Sam chasing the big, bad, fuel mileage boogyman when the answer is ALREADY HERE AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS? Love them or hate them (those who complain of the looks don't "get it" anyways, dont try to convince them with words, let them DRIVE it), there is no real gray area with these cars. Driving them is a BLAST, almost like playing a video game. You find yourself making up reasons to drive places just to see how good of mileage you can get (I know, makes no sense). This has the more desired 5 speed manual transmission with A/C that blows ice cold. It has no accidents or paintwork (sans the mirror that was knocked off the drivers door and has been reordered). There are a few chips on the hood and front bumper (car was not detailed or buffed for pics, just washed off at car wash). This is a southern car, not a northern rust bucket. Tires are good and have plenty of life left (requires special tires). Everything works as it should. All open recalls were performed. IMA battery charges and discharges as it should, Auto Stop functions perfectly, battery assist and charge works perfect. The interior looks like a 48k mile car should, non smokers car. The floormats could stand a good cleaning. What you do with it from here is up to you. Collector? Hypermiler? Daily commuter? The car comes with all books and manuals and a clean and clear title in hand. It scores an 86 out of 100 on Autocheck which is amazing for a 13-14 year old vehicle. It also has recently passed strict NC emissions inspection (meaning no CEL's or IMA lights or "ready mode"). And will be ready to go for the new owner.
