This is the most fully equipped, custom WeeStrom you'll find, anywhere! There was no expense spared making this the nicest V-Strom available! Custom touches are everywhere. The DL-650 V-Strom is the Swiss Army Knife of motorcycles! It can do anything! A Friend of mine said "If I could only ever have one bike, it would be the V-Strom" Look at the pictures, check out my feedback score, you'll see that you can rely on my description to be honest and complete. I bought this V-Strom about 2 years ago and it only had 1,800 miles and was totally stock. I then set out to design, customize, and equip a dual sport that would do everything. I am selling the bike because I'm trying to lower the number of bikes in the garage from 3 to 1. I've also got a 2012 Super Tenere, and I've got a crap load more invested in it, so, since I don't need two dual sport bikes, the Wee is going...I know I'll miss it. It's almost a sport bike, it's amazingly fun and easy to carve the corners with. I had a custom Sergeant seat built so that my wife and I could blast down the freeways or twisty country roads for hours and hours at any (legal) speed, and the Trax panniers on the quick detach SW Motech side racks along with the custom rear rack allow us to take everything we want. One of my favorite features is the speed with which I can change the character and look of the bike. I can go from full two-up, to naked, in about 1 minute. I can pull off the panniers, and just run with the racks on the side, or take the racks off, it doesn't matter, you can have the style bike you want in just minutes, with only the use of a simple standard screwdriver. I added two Ram mounts, one on the front brake master cylinder, and the other on the left handlebar, so I could have both my GPS and my cupholder right where I needed them. I added PIAA auxiliary lights to make myself more visible during the day, and make the road more visible to me at night. They're wired to a switch with led indicator light on the left dash, and directly to the battery for full power, reliably. There's also a 12v power port for your GPS or whatever you want to use it for. The color combination? One of the most important safety features you can add to a motorcycle is visibility. Make those brain dead cagers see you! I took the idea to it's logical conclusion. 22 different components were taken to the powder coater for a high tech, baked color. Red, because it's the fastest of all colors! Plus, it just looks fantastic with the matt black Suzuki paint scheme. Every decal, including the WWII Warhawk P-40 sharks teeth and eyes, are reflective. Even the stripes on the black alloy wheels are reflective! At night, any light, from any direction, will bounce back and highlight your presence. There are so many custom features, I'm afraid I might miss something. The pegs, are double lowered to give maximum leg comfort for long rides. If they're too low, take out one of the lowering kits, or both, that's up to you! The front turn indicators were replaced with flush mount LED lights for a cleaner front end appearance, and less opportunity to break them off, either on the brush or a tree limb. And if you ever drop the bike, they'll still be there! The rear lighting has been upgraded using an Admore rear LED light bar that gives you flashing lights when you first hit the brakes, and it's got sequential amber turn indicators built in. The factory standard lights still work as designed, but the enhanced lighting that the Admore bar gives is AWESOME! The windshield has been replaced with a touring sized windshield, plus totally custom lexan side deflectors to enlarge the comfort zone and give the rider even more protection on cold days. You can see them in the pictures, they are two roughly triangular, clear lexan panels attached to the fairing at the bottom edge of both sides of the windshield. An on top of all that, there's the fabulous Madstad adjustable windshield bracket that allows you to quickly, and simply, with just you hands as tools, to adjust the height and angle of the windshield. The seat, custom upholstered by Sergeant, is designed for long distance comfort, and has the textured seating surfaces along with the contrasting custom red piping for style and that unique look. There's a powder coated red center stand that makes tire maintenance, chain adjustment, or even simply cleaning the rear wheel sooo much easier. And parking in the garage, a bike on a center stand takes up less space than a bike on the side stand. The sidestand has an oversized foot to protect you from soft dirt, or grass tip overs! The skid plate is massive, strong and super protective. And along with the engine guard/crash bars protects virtually everything should the unthinkable ever happen. And since I did fall over at a stoplight, in front of a policemen, once, you can see in the last two pictures, the total "damage" sustained. Some gouging in the plastic hand guards, and a small scratch in the powdercoat on the right engine guard bar. I went to the local Sherwin Williams paint store, and after about 30 minutes, the paint guy perfectly matched the powder coat color, so I have a quart of "touch up" paint for all the powder coat, should you ever need it. Or if you want to change anymore of the bike to the red color (like you wanted red bags instead of black. Other "Red" and/or custom features include.. The handlebar risers are up and back, powdercoated! The dash was disassembled and the instrument bezel was painted red. The exhaust heat shields were replace with aluminum billet parts and then they were sent to the powder coater. The stock chain guard was replaced with billet aluminum, red, of course! The rear luggage rack plate, powder coated red. The mirrors were replace with smaller, more aerodynamic mirrors on brackets to move them out further. The front light bar for the PIAA lights was powder coated red. The PIAA lights are wired to their own switch with green/red led indicator light. The tires are Shinko Trail Master E705 dual sport tires and have only been on the bike about 700 miles. So there's thousand of miles of wear left for you. I really like two things about the Shinko, the handling, and the price. They are very reasonably priced! Oh yeah, it's got a Kaoko throttle lock cruise control. Kaoko builds artwork quality machined metal into smooth, reliable, throttle contols. Easy on, easy off, I can't imagine riding without a cruise control! I can help with organizing and executing shipping, I recommend Keyboard Motorcycle Shipping for their prompt, efficient and SAFE handling of many bikes that I have sold and shipped in the past. If you want to do a fly and ride, which I totally recommend, especially this time of year, I'll pick you up at D/FW airport, it's only 15 minutes from my home. The bike will have a full tank of gas, fresh oil, and new lube on the chain. Ready to head home, wherever home is!
