1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Turbo Convertible I bought this car from the original-owner-family and it has lived its entire life in southern California except for a few years in Oregon. So, it’s a very nice and dry and even more amazingly very original and unmodified. The car has 106,000 miles and the engine was professionally rebuilt at 92,000 (before I purchased it). As you can see from the list below, I replaced a mountain of parts with NOS or OEM reproduction parts and everything is stock except for the NASCAR grade Setrab oil cooler and stainless lines I installed. I have invested nearly $8,000 in parts alone on this rebuild (I have the receipts!!!). Everything works and the car is totally complete…. But some of the trim has not been re-installed as of today!!!!!!!!!! The body is very good and needs a bit very light body work before sanding, blocking and painting. No rust through… just superficial surface stuff. The trunk and the floors are good with only minor pinholes after Power brushing and which were filled with epoxy (see pics)!! This is what I have replaced and installed……… battery tray, battery cables, Interstate battery, throttle carb linkage, braided stainless fuel line, re-chromed air cleaner, chrome air filter bracket, chrome oil filler, seat belt retractors, front and rear seat belts, chrome fuel filter strap, windshield wipers, tail light gaskets, fuel tank sending unit and retaining ring, rubber fuel lines, fan belt, throttle rod bellows, heater door, all heater hoses, turbo exhaust housings, exhaust turbine, turbo heater line, turbo bearings, turbo shaft seal, all turbo system gaskets, all new clamps, manifold flange, turbo, crossover pipe, inlet pipe, full ceramic coating of turbo piping, 2 new tail light lenses, remanufactured carb by Grant Young, replaced entire throttle, linkage front to back, engine compartment seal, front HD springs, front shocks, shift coupler, motor mount cover, chassis wiring harness, engine wiring harness wiring harness grommets, radio antenna, front lip spoiler, master cylinder, stainless steel brake hoses, two brake wheel cylinders, turbo fuel filters, jack, r&r kick panels, valve cover gaskets, all rear cove trim and bases, cigarette lighter, harmonic balancer, driver door hinge, spare tire, horn button, fan belt, jack handles, K&N style air filter, chrome oil filter fittings, shifter trim box, BMW 5-series wheels, Continental Conti sport tires, speedometer cable, speedometer gauge and NASCAR grade Setrab oil cooler with stainless lines, Included in sale, but not installed yet... New fabric top, window & well (not some Chinese plastic crap), new door sills ,re-chromed rear bumper, new interior door panels, all rear cove trim and bases plus tons of other part spares I’ll throw in for FREE. The car obviously needs paint, upholstery and the top installed. INSPECTION The car is available for inspection during the auction period in Newport Beach, California. The body apears to have a very thin skim coat of fiberglass of the rear wheels due to some very light damage in the past, but not due to rust. Otherwise, I'm not aware of other filler. The car only had some cheap aftermarket aluminum wheels from the 70's when I acquired the car and I do not have the original wheels. Car also has quick steering arms kit installed. I combined and early exhaust housing with a late compressor (or is it vice-versa.. can't remember) and was built by Marty Katz. I mean EVERYTHING......horn, blinkers, headlights, dimmer switch, heater, fan, backup lights, speedo, tach. boost guage, door locks, wipers, blah, blah.....even the crappy 50 year old radio works after it warms up a bit. The wheels are like new from a 2005 BMW 5-series which using the same effective bolt circle (4.75' = 120mm) and back spacing as GM used throughout the 1960's through much of the 1990's. This car DOES NOT have 57 layers of paint and primer like most cars of this age.
