Vehicle Detail
1966 Ford Fairlane 500, unrestored original condition, 2 door hardtop, one repaint in the 80's orig color of Nightmist Blue, not a show queen, originally was SBF 289ci, auto. Nice original bench seat interior, very good original condition. New TCI Streetfighter C6 trans and convertor. New B&M Pro Stick floor shifter needs installed. Has built 460ci low miles, .030 over, .560 lift cam, 850 Holley DP carb, C9VE heads, Torker intake, MSD ignition, runs 93 octane, new Crites headers JetHot ceramic coated, needs exhaust. still. Ford 9" rear with 4.30 gears. New Cragar SS 15x4 & 15x8's, tires are old and need replaced. New aluminum driveshaft with safety loop, New front disk brakes, front suspension totally rebuilt still needs alignment but its....ALL NEW Crites 460 conversion motor mounts, Crites longtube headers with JetHot ceramic coating, Crites bolt on ram air 427 hood...ALL NEW Must see to appreciate Car fires up and runs great. Not street worthy yet do to the items mentioned above. BODY The body on this car is in very good condition.. Originally a Carolina car that came to Ohio in the 80's. The sheetmetal is all original! No panels ever replacedand never any patches ever. There are a few spots on the car that will need attention to be show quality. as you can see in the pics. Areas that I'm referring to are over the rear driver side wheelwell and rear corner of front driver side fender. The floors and underside of the car are perfect as well as the trunk, and engine compartment. The car was painted the original color sometime in the 80's and still on the car today. The paint is great driver quality. The driver side door was replaced at some time for unknown reasons before it was painted and the original data tag was screwed back in place. All weatherstrip is original and dry rotted. Front bumper is very nice and the rear does have pitting. The original hood is gone but included is a brand new Crites 427 Ram Air hood. All mouldings are in excellent shape. The glass is all original and great shape. Overall for its age and originality the car is very nice in my opinion. I've owned the car for about 4-5 years and I always got compliments and looks everywhere it went. DRIVETRAIN Engine is a mild built 460 that was built by the PO back in the 90's and has very low miles. I have all documents and reciepts for almost everything. Runs absolutely awsome and was built right, not by some backyard mechanic. Has a 560 lift cam, C9VE iron heads, roller rockers, Torker intake and more. I recently removed the motor and trans to install a new trans and went crazy buying parts. I painted the motor, engine bay, and all brackets while it was out and added lots of new stuff including MSD Pro Billet, Crites longtube headers that were JETHOT coated, polished 429 Cobra Jet valve covers, Edelbrock alum waterpump, Holley chrome mechanical fuel pump (inline with Carter electric pump pushing to it), Summit mini starter, Ford Motorsport harmic balancer, DERELE flex fan with proper spacing, Champion aluminumradiator, hoses, etc and its all new with receipts to prove it. Transmission is a brand new TCI StreetFighter C6 with matching StreetFighter stall converter bolted to a new TCI flexplate. I have a brand new B&M Pro Stick shifter that has not yet been installed. The car has 4 speed pedals in it because the PO had a manual trans and they never got changed out but I have auto pedals. Also still has hole in floor from 4 speed shifter. SUSPENSION and BRAKES New manual front disk brake setup in place of the original drums. Most parts are from SSBC and I purchased some through NPD and at local parts stores, its all new. The brakes are manual disk but could be converted to power disk by adding a booster pretty easily. The rear brakes are standard 9" drum. The front upper and lower control arms are new as well as ball joints, tie rods and all bushings. Car has not been driven since and still needs alignment. The front springs were installed by the PO and they are from a big block Fairlane wagon. The rear consist of the original leaf springs with Lakewood traction bars and air shocks. Rear axle is a 9" from a 57 Ford which is narrower than the 66. The rear 15x8 Cragars were ordered with less backspace and fit up in the rear wheel wells very nice with a small spacer. The rear L60tires are old but fit nicely. The gears are 4.30's which run about 3200RPM at 65MPH. The Cragar SS wheels, lugs and centers are all brand new. Sizes are 15x8 rear and 15x4 up front. The front tires are old NOS but are dry rotted. Overall car is very nice. But it does need some minor finishing touches. I have no time to work on or finish this car. I hate to see it go but have other interest now. Asking $12900 or best offer. I have more pics I can email just pm me or send email for faster responce. Thanks for looking.
