Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 1984 Pontiac Fiero 2M4. Its completely original with no modifications. It has the 2.5L Iron Duke 4 cylinder paired with the 4 speed manual transmission. It has 194,731 miles and feels as tight as a new car. And the engine is just the same. The transmission is smooth and shifts easily. The interior is in fair condition, the fur has pretty much wore off the sheep skin seats but is still comfortable. The rest of the interior is in pretty fair condition. The dash is not cracked but the some of the other plastic components are chipped. The radio and heater stack cover has detached from the unit. Also the headliner though in place, is not in the best condition. All and all the interior is pretty clear for the age. The car originally came from Utah owned by an older gentlemen who had worked for GM and received this car as a retirement gift. He physically wasn't able to drive the car after so many years and gave it to his son in 2006 who took in to Michigan and sold it to a friend. He then drove it once and the clutch went out. I then bought it and put the new clutch in. It's been in Michigan for 2 years now and driven only one winter, getting car washes every 2 to 3 weeks in winter and same in spring. And because of that, there’s only surface rust on the frame structure. As fair as I can tell this has been the third time the clutch has been replaced, the last before I bought the car was in 1998. Also the engine computer was replaced in 1998. The engine is fairly oily due to a bad valve cover gasket which I have also replaced. I have no troubles with the engine which runs with no knocks or rattles. The original exhaust is free of any major rust. The paint is a little cracked and faded from the Utah sun and has some scuffs and scratches from the years of use. I made a copy of each of the keys which work in all the locks on the car except the passenger door lock. I'm not sure if this is because of the lock itself or the copied key. As far as I can tell this car has almost all the factor options: power windows, power mirrors, rear window defrost, electric trunk release, air conditioning, power locks, sun roof, cruise control, manual transmission, and sheep skin seats. The only option that is missing as far as I can tell is the deluxe radio with multiple audio quality sliders. The car also includes the original spare tire, jack and tire iron along with the original keys and manual. I went through the brakes system this fall before storage and replaced the 2 rear calipers, pads, and rotors. And in the front replaced the rotors and pads. I went through at this time and flushed and bled the brake system. When the engine was out of the car for the clutch replacement I went through and flushed the cooling system as well. Afterward I flushed the clutch hydraulics and bled that system too. This car would be great for someone who wants to drive it as original or someone wanting to restore a car like this. New parts: -Clutch -Rebuilt headlight motors -Passenger side headlight -All new brake rotors -All new brake pads -Both rear brake calipers -Wiper motor -Wiper arms -Wipers -Starter solenoid -Valve cover gasket -Engine cover hinge -Clutch master cylinder -Clutch slave cylinder -Clutch pedal -Exterior light bulbs -Dash speakers -Air filter Because this car is in original condition some of the original equipment does not work. This includes the AC which has a broken casting. The cruise control does not work and the door locks and windows should work better with some lubrication. Also the radiator fan has never worked since I've owned it and needs to be replaced. If you have any questions or would like any more pictures feel free to email me. Cashiers check must clear the bank before claiming the vehicle. Thank you.
