Vehicle Detail
I have a 1966 Mustang hardtop I am seller here. Its a great driver, low mileage; perfect frame rails, shock towers, torque boxes, Nice floors. I bought this car and it had been sitting in a barn in werstern PA for over 10 years. The guy I bought the car from was going to restore this car (which I would say it needs a minor cosmetic restoration) but he never got much past pulling out the interior, discarding the carpet and removing some exterior trim and the front and rear bumper. As the car is now it is super streetable and driveable. In the time I have had this car I have replaced the following. * Complete brake system wheel cylinders, brake shoes (4 wheel drum) and master cylinder and the car stops GREAT. *Fuel tank and sending unit and Fuel pump *New Holley 600 cfm electronic choke 4 barrel carburetor. *New distributor *New Radiator *New rear leaf springs *New clutch assembly complete including the flywheel resurfaced. *New Battery. The car looks awesome with a matched set of spinner correct 1966 wheel covers/referred to as deluxe wheel covers. which cover original date matching original rims even with a nice set of raised while letter radials. *Complete tune up including spark plug wires, spark plugs, coil, starter selonoid, and voltage regulator *I have also changed out the headlight switch, ignition swich and headlight dimmer./while this list is long A) I am forgetting things and B) these were just items I should thought should be replaced to make the car reliable./I went over and around the car/there are even new haolgen headlights up front. *Interior got new kick panels, carpet set, and sill plates and just a great cleaning making this car look like it nearly has a new interior/trust me the interior is more original than not. Beneath the carpet is is excellent original floors, I have a few pics/the car was so solid it didnt really need floors but my personal friend who is a welder welding in a small piece where the front floors meet the toe boards on both sides/I have the picture before the carpet was installed/its great/solid/strong and looks nice too. I have attached to the add a video of the car just running awesome. Plenty of honest photos and that brings me to the point in being honest there is some rust on the rear wheel arches. I think that the car presends like a 20 footer adn thats because there are marks dings and scratchs and again the rear wheel house rust which is bubbling. An educated guess tells me that probably 10 or more (maybe as many as 15 years ago there was a pretty good cosmetic redo done on the car. Thats when it was painted Silver Blue/original exterior color is saturne gold. At that time the fenders were replaced with new,(there is no rot on the fenders at all, the doors had minor repairs to the RS door and the LS door had a lower patch panel section installed, then the rear quarters got the lower rear patch panels done. Overall, nice solid car presenting complete but needing some cosmetic attention. Not a car needing a full restoration but frankly a car that truly could be considered a driving restoration if thats what you want to do with it. Personally a $1000 to $1500 trip to maaco and this car would be awesome. I wanted to add there are a couple things that I would point out as flaws right now but I intend to remedy. 1. Front parking lights not in place; I have a new set (2 assemblies) and I will install them 2. ignition switch tumbler/when the switch was changed the tumbler was ordered and on back order; I have it now. 3. Shifter boot needs the appropriate bezel chrome trim reinstalled. 4. reinstalling the heater box/heater assembly. There items will take me but an hour or two and I will finish these items before the auction ends/If you would like updated pics of the completion of this stuff just let me know.
