Vehicle Detail
631-357-2602 This is a no reserve auction so the highest bidder will win! If you bid then you are agreeing to my terms of the auction and intend to buy my car if you are the highest bidder! This is not a game, it is a contract to purchase my car. So, being a NO RESERVE auction, this means that YOU could be the highest bidder at anytime! Please do not play games because I don't! Thanks. THE CAR IS LISTED LOCALLY SO I DO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STOP THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME! This is a running and driving car and while it has seen better days...it is NOT rust bucket and the body lines are very very nice! The car has had 2 owners and I have the title from 1974 from the second owner with the original GM keys! The interior is completely original, the code 'P' carrier blue paint that you see in some parts of the car is the original paint. The body panels are super straight as I used to do bodywork and I know what straight is! Most of the car is original, aside from what the last owner did, (owned the car for almost 40 years) which was to add 67 GTO accents as he liked some of the detail about the 67's so he added the lower chrome and the grill. The engine is long gone and it has a 1968 400 in it for the past 36 years. Transmission and rear are original. I also have the original radio as you can see in the trunk. I am sure that you all know that this car is extremely rare and is all intact but deserves a total resto but it does run and drive pretty well although I would not recommend driving it home if you live far away. It is conceivable to make it look a little more presentable...easily...and drive it while you restore it! The engine runs really well with NO smoking or noises, the trans. shifts well and the clutch and brakes work good too. Considering that the car is worth in the $70k-$80k range then I am sure that you know that it needs some serious work. Here is what the car is from the PHS documentation that I have and I am waiting for the original copies from PHS and you can call to confirm this with them: 1966 GTO convertible...color code P carrier blue with black interior bucket seats with console...black convertible power top factory 4 speed close ratio transmission 389 tri-power (3x2 bbl) engine (GTO only) ORIG. ENGINE IS LONG GONE ALONG WITH THE TRIPOWER! 3:90 safety track rear axle exhaust splitter w/ dual exhaust HD fan blade and clutch Ride and handling package Custom sport steering wheel Center console Clock Custom seat belts lamp glove box Lamp luggage lamp parking brake Lamp under hood On to the condition as I am only allowed 24 pictures but I can send others if needed. Call me and I will describe the car in serious detail. As you can see I took many pictures of the body panels, undercarriage and frame as I think that these are the most important aspects of such a highly desirable car. Look at my feedback and know that I am very honest and NEVER had a problem in over 4500 sales total and over 2150 unique buyer sales which is evident in my feedback score! There is very little bodywork on the car so what you see is what you get as far as rust goes. The car has some rust underneath but not too badly. Body panels are mostly original, if not all original, and only the drivers lower rear 1/4 panel needs work (lower patch panel). Drivers floor pan needs to be changed for sure (pictured), rears are ok, passenger side has some rust but could also be patched. Trunk is pretty solid aside from two small spots seen in pics, you could change it or easily fix it. The frame has a small spot of rot under the passenger door and can easily be fixed to look like it was never there. The rest of the frame is only lightly surface rusted but very solid as you can see that it is still thick! The frame was never touched in any way...it was never painted, repaired, straightened etc., etc.! The top does not work and it is not in the greatest shape either. Obviously a very rare car needing some love but it has not been molested...pretty much nothing was done to the car...the body is all original, the frame is all original, the interior is all original, the engine compartment is all original (not orig. engine though), dash, seats, top, glass, body panels, etc. ALL ORIGINAL! I can only say this...try and find another one! Please feel free to send your best Pontiac inspector to view the car for you, or please come and inspect it yourself. Call me anytime at 631-357-2602. Thanks You can rest assure that you can bid with complete confidence here as evident by my 2153 feedback score with NEVER having a negative feedback!!! Car is sold where is and as is! There are no warranties, buyer is responsible for pickup with in a timely manner. I DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL FOR ANY REASON! Call me to arrange payment. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to stop the auction at anytime. On Apr-15-13 at 05:28:14 PDT, seller added the following information: If you are new to ebay (less than 5 feedback score) then you must call me to bid on my car. If not then I will have no choice but to simply cancel your bid and block you from bidding. I have been on ebay too long to trust new bidders...sorry.
