Vehicle Detail

For Sale is my RHD 1963 MKII 3.8, with 4Spd. and O/D. This car, with this specific power train combination and Right Hand Drive is unquestionably one of the most desirable and certainly the most beautiful post 50's Jaguar Sedan ever built. When new it was advertised as the world's fastest production 4 Dr Sedan claiming a top speed of 125 mph. I cannot personally attest to that claim but I can personally attest to the fact that it is a strong runner. Upon receipt of the vehicle we needed to perform only minor carb repair before starting and test driving. I drove it personally and it ran and drove amazingly well. This is a real 3.8… and it runs like it. Good through the gears, stops like it should and with the Right Hand Drive configuration a real head turner, AND for you purists out there…. a whole lot of fun to drive. After test driving we removed the engine and transmission to allow a quality repaint of the engine compartment… and unfortunately that's where we stopped. As you can see from the photos, the body of the car is straight and bondo free. It is currently in minor disassembly (engine, transmission and interior removed) and ready for sanding, prep and paint. I purchased the car in 2011 from a dealer in AZ, and insofar as there appears to be only very minimal surface rust, and one rust through (on the lower front of the right rear fender well ..see pic) my intent was a repaint and interior refurbishing. However, (and this is a big HOWEVER) as with a lot of my projects my bark is bigger than my bite, and the fact is I simply have too much on my plate to devote the necessary time needed to finish the project. As far as I can tell the car is complete, to that end I will try to post more pics of the various components as I'm able to remove them from storage. Likewise, I have a stack of records from the prior owner(s?) going back for years detailing the work performed and parts replaced on the car. There is a new set of body rubber included, and according to the Dealer from whom I purchased the car, the engine was rebuilt and the clutch and pressure plate were replaced, those components should have only test drive miles. Further, a lot of the suspension components were replaced or re-bushed. The title shows the mileage as 34,330 with the Non-Actual disclaimer. The wood is generally good to very good with some excellent (see pics), the glass is good and chrome work is fair to good. The tires appear to be new and still have the rubber spikes on them and the car is equipped with what appears to be a 1960's style AMFM Radio. All the interior components (knobs, switches etc…etc..) appear to be there as are all the seats AND the front seats are complete with picnic tables on the back (see pics). I delivered one of the seats to my local upholstery guy for inspection, he couldn't say for sure if it was leather or vinyl but leaned heavily toward leather as do I. The interior is Red in color and the seats are all original and usable. This is the third MKII I've been privileged to own and with RHD and a 3.8 - 4Spd. O/D power train configuration, this certainly is the "Gold Standard" of post 50's Jaguar Sedans and a rare piece of engineering and automotive art as well. As mentioned above, except for very minor carburetor repair, the car was roadworthy when purchased and now needs simply to be painted and reassembled. This vehicle will make one lucky Jaguar aficionado a great daily and weekend driver.... Again, I simply don’t have the time to complete the project. I have exerted all efforts to accurately and honestly represent this automobile, however, as with all classic cars, this vehicle is being sold ABSOLUTELY AS- IS WITH NO WARRANTY FOR FITNESS OF OR FOR USE OR MERCHANTABILITY EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. It is located in Wapakoneta, OH and all bidders are encouraged to contact me for an on-site inspection. This is an expensive Automobile with KBB values of fully restored examples approaching $80,000. The car is advertised locally and nationally, it is FOR SALE and can be sold any time through the end of the Auction process and the reserve is very realistic. The opening bid is set for $500.00 and bidding is open to residents of the US and Canada. If you're located elsewhere and have less than 10 satisfactorily completed transactions you should email me before bidding, otherwise your bid may be rejected. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FINANCIAL ABILITY TO COPMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. A non-refundable deposit of $2,500 is required at the completion of the auction and payment in full is due within 7 days. We will accept Cash, Visa and MasterCard and wire transfers for the initial deposit and. PayPal is acceptable for final payment. As usual the vehicle will not be released until paid in full.
