Vehicle Detail

For your consideration is this (private single owner since new) 1967 Series 1, Jaguar E-Type (XKE) 2+2, 4.2 Litre straight six. This is an original California, black-plate example. the 3 SU carbs have been cleaned. The glass covered head lights that are indicative of said car are in perfect original condition. This car is and has been owned by the same owner since imported to the Henry S. Perren showroom in Orange County, CA in the mid 1960's. The car is not running at present but, was running like a top when garaged 11 years ago. The car has been in various states of being covered and uncovered since that time. There is a list of work that has been done since 2009. There is NO rust on this vehicle ANYWHERE save the surface rust on the mufflers (exhaust) seen in the photos. The interior is NOT dry-rotted or ripped and torn. It is a bit dirty and displays some fading and needs cleaning or to be replaced/redyed. The exterior paint is in very good condiiton but needs to be cleaned and rubbed-out to get the sheen back. The paint shows very well and has not been exposed to direct light in 11 years. I live in Detroit now and the car is in CALIFORNIA so, I am not inclined to do anymore work as I have a new home here. I will fly to meet the winning bidder in Orange County, CA upon the close of the auction or to ship it out to the winner. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE AN INTERNATIONAL BIDDER before bidding or I reserve the right to cancel one's bid. USD currency only. New ignition coil, new ignition wires, cap and points. New gas tank fuel sending unit, new brass float tube (old tube was made of tin), the pick-up tube has been disassembled and purged of all debris, The pick-up screen thoroughly cleaned, the fuel line was purged, fuel pump was rebuilt and the carbs have been cleaned. The fuel tank has had an acid tank cleanout done, and a plastic liner wiped inside the tank. (Hence the photos of the hatch opened with rags and tools inside IMAGE #6) This 1967 2+2 has the same 4-speed close ratio all Synchromesh gear box with a 3.07 rear end ratio. This ‘67 2+2 has the close ratio gear box from the roadster; (most 2+2's were delivered with an automatic,) and stick shifts were delivered with the wide ratio gear box from the Jaguar 107G Sedan. This 2+2 gives a fourth gear gearing of 25mph per 1000rpm. This E-TYPE will do 60 mph in first gear, the cruising speed of this 2+2 is 125 mph. This Series 1 Jaguar 2+2 has heated rear windows. This example has Pirelli P205 R15 H rated tires, and thread tread depth is 11/32 inch. New, those tires had 12/32 inch thread depth, but they are over 10 years old. This car has a clean and free title and is ready for shipping anywhere in the world. I am able to arrange shipping anywhere in the world. If you are a bidder from Europe all finds must be wired to my wife's account with the appropriate numbers with which to complete the transaction before pick-up. This car is located in Rossmoor, California (zip code-90720)The car can only be picked-up on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of the week. The vehicle must be pick-up within two weeks of end of auction. There is no warranty, expressed or implied on this vintage vehicle.
