Vehicle Detail

1963 Ford F100 (390 FE V8 out of a 1966 Galaxy, NP435 4 Speed, new edelbrock carb., runs great, great interior, paint is rough, but a very cool truck). Yes, all of the trim is there and in good condition. Yes, there is a dent on the passenger door pillar. Yes, it's runs and drives. Yes, the tires are decent, but they do need some air. No, there is no rust in the bulkhead of the bed. Yes, the top of the cab is rusted. No, it does not have the orignal motor. Yes, it did have an aux. fuel tank in the bed that is no longer there, but the filler neck is. Yes, that is a reupholstered seat. Yes, the headliner is sagging and needs replacement. Yes, that is a crack in the windshield. No, the radio doesn't work. No, it doesn't stop or steer like a modern day car. It stops great for what it is. The steering is like wrestling a bear. Yes, it could use an oil change unless I get around to it in the next couple of days. Yes, it say's "Custom Cab" on the door. Yes, the bed is a styleside and was stock to the truck from Ford originally. Yes, the clutch is in good great shape. Many folks have asked if the truck could be purchased and driven long distances. This is a ranch truck and was used on dirt or non-improved roads. Yes, mechanically the truck should be able to make an open road trip. However, it's has steering from 1963 and tends to drift at freeway speeds. If you have experience driving an old truck that has a sloppy steering column, then I suppose you could drive it to cross country from California to New Jersey. Personally, I think it would wear you out and the exhaustion wouldn't be worth the hastle. Also, the fuel cost would be much more than the cost of a transport. How often do you see basically stock early 60's era trucks on the freeway or interstate? This is precisely why people buy these trucks and immediately change out the front suspension and steering. Most conversions are Mustang II type systems that have disc brakes and power steering. This truck would be the ideal candidate for such a swap. Yes, you may contact me for specific information about the truck. Call me for more details. Chris 650.400.0650.
