Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1970 Bronco which I have owned since 1990. Frame up restoration in 2001 which took about 1 year, in which I have many pictures. Replaced rusted floor pans and quarter panels, most parts and accessories came from James Duff up in WA. Some of the more notable's I will list below. I never thought I would sell it (basically only thing I took after the divorce in 2004) but soon will be getting married again and need some extra garage space. Truck deserves a better home. Truck painted Portofino Metallic Blue from early 90's Ford paint chart. Seems light blue in sunlight, and Blueish purple in dark. My fiance says it resembles Periwinkle. Really turns heads. I will entertain reasonable offers if contacted and reserve the right to end auction early. These older modified vehicles are very difficult to determine price, so I will set a Low Reserve, A LOT less than all my receipts show. I am not looking to get rich, but don't want to give it away either. Truck sold with no warranty of course, sold as is: -Rebuilt 302 with about 400 miles -Replaced stock 3-speed with 4-speed Trans (like a 10 bolt top cover, but has 10% lower 1st, and 4th is like Overdrive. runs about 500 RPMs lower at 55 MPH) got out of 86 Ford pickup. I believe called R.A.T. -MSD electronic ignition -Power Steering -Front Disc, Rear drum -replaced Dana 20 kingpin with Dana 44 front axle, all bearings and seals. -Hurst shifters -Big O 33x12.5 R15 LT -Holly 2 bbl /have Motorcraft if you want it. -Duffy 2" lift with Dual Shocks and steering stabilizer. All Poly bushings. -New Rear bumper, and front bumper with 8000' Warn -New HD radiator/hoses/heater core with fan shroud -Tilt steering column -Ultralight gauges (cluster works for speedo) -electronic fuel tank switching -Mastercraft off road seats, very comfortable. -Hardtop was snatched out Denver Junkyard and repainted White Pearl. -Roadster door inserts also included. This truck runs well, body in fairly good condition. I have never been heavy off-roading, and prior to my owning it I do not believe it to be in any accidents. To be completely honest, I will explain some items needing repair: 1. The rear seat was recovered, but the back rest (shown in pics) plywood was broken when the Big O guy launched my old tires in the back. I believe that staples removed holding cover on, replace wood backing or mounting bolt that it could be fixed fairly easily. 2. I had some carb work done a few years back, and the mechanic let the hood down on the hood-pin lock post and it cracked the thin body filler on the hood (2 pics). Right by the window washer hole, I always planned to repair it during future repaint. 3. Dash pad was covered, underneath cracked. Probably want to replace it. 4. During the 2" lift, my Aux fuel filler tube was modified. Need to fill slow or replace entire tube. 5. Passenger Door interior panel missing, have to look around to see if I still have it. Glass on Driver and Pax door and vent window has some sand pitting. Good luck bidding, if you want to contact me with any questions, feel free to email. I would list my phone, but I work a lot of swing shifts and need to sleep. I will check auction daily and if you email me with phone I will return call. I will accept PayPal or cash in person, $1000 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close. Truck has not been registered since 2009 when I stopped insuring it. Winning bidder responsible for picking up truck in Aurora CO, but will be flexible with transaction. If bidder has less than 10 transactions, must email me before bidding. I have 100% E bay feedback and want to keep it that way. Serious bidders only. Thanks for looking, Dean On Apr-09-13 at 16:02:30 PDT, seller added the following information: -Yes it does have newer exhaust, have headers to "cherry bomb" muffler. Sound a lot like glasspacks. Moderately loud but not obscene. Very nice idle sound. On Apr-15-13 at 11:25:45 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a lot of questions, of course happy to answer. I just want the truck to find a good home, but mostly a happy eBay buyer. Here was a good question from a interested Watcher. I really loved driving this truck in WY and CO where I have used it, but getting too old to take it fishing where I used to go. This truck has had a great history with me, but its time to let it go. I have pictures of my ground up restoration, and yes....it was beat up. Spent over a year working days off to do what those guys on TV seem to do in an hour. If I bought this truck again, would do very minor body work to straighten things out, and paint it again same color. Might spring for fuel injection but I like things simple. Starts right up at 6000 feet, might have to tweak the carb in summer. Dear busycat1, I'm interested in your bronco. Does this have a reserve or a buy it now price. Im just curious what you are hoping to get out of it. Also how rusted was this truck? You state you replaced floor pans and corners. Was it in bad shape? Also coule you send picture of the underside? Mainly the spots repaired. I live in cincinnati and would be purchasing sight unseen. Thanks Dustin My response to everyone Watching My Auction: Dustin, I do understand how difficult it is to buy a used vehicle sight unseen. I did have a reserve that was met, I really don't have a clue what this truck will bring on the market....that's why I put it on auction. My biggest fear is that a buyer will purchase this and then decline for any reason. Make no mistake, this is not a show truck but it was my daily driver till about 2000 when I finally decided to take every bolt off, inspect and clean or replace. The quarter panels, floor pans and rocker panels were replaced, primed, painted. Bodywork is not perfect, but then I never thought I would sell this truck. Per your request, I pulled the truck out of the garage and took several pics of undercarriage. Haven't been under the truck in over 10 years, a bit dirty and gaskets on differentials probably need servicing. It has slung a bit of grease as I did place a healthy amount of grease on the new U joint. I also remember when putting in new rocker panels how stupid the design was....An invitation for rust, and believe me, the old ones were trashed. So when installing them, I left a slit in bottom underside that I could hose out, clean and keep from collecting water/dirt. There really isnt any rust I could find, just a bit of surface rusting on a few components that would come off if cleaned or waxed. Because I spent months on replacing panels and bodyfiller/sanding I decided to coat the inside of truck with Duraliner (like Rhinoliner) from Napa. I continued it to just outside the hardtop (seen black strip on outside vehicle underneath because I didnt want to deal with rust ever again. The sun has faded the liner a bit outside under hardtop, but a new coat (pretty inexpensive) rolled on would be ideal. If comfort is what you desire, I suppose you could carpet the truck, but I believe that to be a sin. With minimal effort you could have a great 4x4. I will send some pics to you. Good luck, hope it helps and I suppose I should try and post this so others know what you do. Dean On Apr-15-13 at 11:58:24 PDT, seller added the following information: Well, I have tried very hard to be as honest as I can about my truck, am fielding many emails. I appreciate enthusiasm and wish I had included in description but I completely overlooked one important Item. When I put in the new Mastercraft seats, I bolted them to the floor, so they are not adjustable. I suppose you could either buy adjustable brackets if necessary, or move them with some minor modification. Again, I am sorry for the oversight. Dean On Apr-15-13 at 12:01:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I am 6'2" and have good room, my 5'10" fiance fits fine too.
