Vehicle Detail
I am listing my 1983 V45 Sabre 750 Honda for sale. This bike will not be cheap, but the photos should help validate the condition and details that I went to getting this bike where it is today. I bought this bike as a non-runner with only 11,250 miles for $800 back in 2011 as a special project. I remember these when they hit the dealer's floors in 1982. The magazines went crazy over the technology saying every other company would have to copy something from this lost list of technology - exactly what Mr. Honda wanted from this bike. Fibrer Optic security, laps counter, ET clock, gear indicator, in-dash diagnostics, Anti-Dive, Disc brake, shaft-drive, water-cooled, 4 valves per cylinder, V4, all shouted to the world - Honda leads the world in tomorrow's bike. I spent 6 months cleaning, polishing, bead blasting, powdercoating, painting, checking the cams, installing the high-pressure oiling system, replacing hundreds of parts for NOS/OEM, and added new tires. I polished the cylinderhead covers and then powdercoated them clear! I did the radiator side plates the same way - this bike is and will remain polished for years. The bike is not a frame-off restoration - those take me about 1 year and 3 times what I have in this one. I've got the $800 purchase price plus approx $3,000 in parts/services and then 6 months of free time as my hobby. I do enjoy putting these old bikes together, so labor is often something I don't count. My reserve is a lot less than my investment. Check out the absolutely 1-off Griffin Thermal Products radiator. These guys know cooling and build for both on-road and off-road racing teams. They've built a few for me and I will never buy or run a "repaired" radiator on any of my builds - not when I can have the best radiator company build me one for the same price. The carbs have 100% Honda factory jets, needles, gaskets, screws, new springs (2 different ones used), and the entire set polished and cleaned by Billy. The bike runs absolutely perfectly! It's ready to go to work, the beach, cross-country. There are two (2) keys - unfortunately the factory key that fits the ignition, steering lock, helmet lock, and the security cable are different that the fuel cap. You'll get new keys, but they are different. 3 different seats? Yes - the stock one (my favorite) recovered in graphite vinyl, the Sargent with matched Blue piping to cordinate with the paint, and finally a Corbin dual-saddle. All are in great shape and all 3 come with the bike. All spares shown in the photos go with the bike - these are not for sale individually and I'll keep them if I don't sell the bike. Again, they are only available with the bike. They include - NOS left muffler never fitted, some light shelf wear, NOS fuel petcock, NOS fuel level sender, all the NOS seals for the driveshaft, spare set (pair) of ignitors, NOS lighting module, and dozens more (everything you see) to include the box of used spares. You will also get the Honda factory manual, the factory Instruments manual, and the owners handbook manual - everything gets boxed including the Bill of Sale and Title and sent by UPS upon payment receipt. See all the extras? There is over $1,000 worth of parts - everything is included. Someone is going to get a bargain when you consider the cost to duplicate this bike. With only 11,783 miles, this has years of trouble-free service and 10's of thousands of miles to deliver. I'm downsizing and thinning out the bikes I don't ride. I really enjoyed doing this Sabre, but it's been completed since 2011 and less than 500 miles so it doesn't get ridden. I've got several bikes and no longer have the time to get them all out for excercise like I should. Feel free to ask me questions, again this won't be cheap, but it will be a bargain. I'm posting the maximum of 24 photos that eBay allows, so if you don't see it - please ask. I have some local interest in this bike and I reserve the right to not sell it. If you have 0 (zero) or low feedback, you need to let me know why. I realize everyone has to start somewhere, but vintage bikes aren't the normal place for eBay newbies. I need serious bidders only. Good luck and I hope she finds a good home. Gordon
