Vehicle Detail

The time has come for me to sell the best car I have ever owned. As the Project Car for Grassroots Motorsports in 1996, "The Beast" shares a unique place in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) history as valuable and fun as the car itself! Provided in this sale are the four issues of Grassroots Motorsports telling the story of "Living with the Beast" and the work accomplished by OPM Motorsports, BSI Racing, Carrera and Tokico to create "The Beast." Known for its ability to hold to the track like it's on rails, this car literally owns the curves! The car has a unique history as valuable and fun as the car itself! The car was original purchased from prominent SCCA Autocross Racer Frank Rouser. To preserve the historical integrity of this remarkable car, it was completely restored. This is an opportunity for someone to own this car for half of what I have invested in it. This car is a legend so no expense has been spared... inside and out! From the Corbeau racing seat, Nardi Personal Fittipaldi Italian leather (the crown jewel of this car's interior) steering wheel, and Kamei golf ball gearshift knob to the stock blue interior, this is one serious Rabbit. I also have the stock driver's seat too and the original ‘VW Snowflake factory wheels’. The interior is exceptionally clean... and when you read through the specifications, you will know that a great deal of thought has gone into the car. I have records of the fully documented restoration (complete with photos) in 2006 and the work that followed in 2008 on the body and paint (over 150hrs). "The Beast" attracts a lot of attention both on the road and at the track and is definitely priced to sell! Reserve has been set at $6k - if I don't get this I will keep the car. ENGINE BSI Head with G-grind Cam Rebuilt in 2005. (Has approx 6k miles on the engine since the rebuild - it only came out on the sunny days) TT Euro Downpipe (without catalytic convertor) New Raceland headers (the car sounds great!) ABD Big-Bore Intake with Autotech Throttle Body Polyurethane Motor Mounts TRANSMISSION Stock GTI transmission with tall 5th gear added Rebuilt 2010. BODY Completely rust-free with 150 hours invested on body and paint in 2008 All rubber seals replaced and new windshield installed. Bosch H4 Headlights. PAINT New Pearl White Finish in 2008 (only blemish on the body is a small area around the filler cap) WHEELS Falken 8 lb wheels, 15 inch. VW original Snowflake factory wheels, 14 inch SUSPENSION Ground control coilovers with Koni yellow fully adjustable shocks Eibach springs (450 pounds front, 550 pounds rear) Gound control camber plates Delrin control arm bushings Delrin steering rack bushings Top and bottom stress bars Rear Trunk stress bar Extras Box of spares inc window winders, gauges, handles, belts etc The car starts first time everytime and I would confidentally drive this car cross country! Although I'd need to sit on a pillow and wear some ear defenders! Let me know if you have any questions On Mar-24-13 at 07:00:19 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention the AC system was completely redone last year and it blows super cold!
