An elderly man had owned a cared for it for many years. The previous owner found it while on vacation there, negotiated a deal, and brought it back to Joplin, Mo. where I bought it in 2011. He believed the 83K miles could be correct (though exempt by law). The paint is 100% original. No body damage or rust has been covered or repaired. Only the seat has been covered over the old seat cover. CONDITION: The truck starts,runs, drives, and stops well. The gauges all work as does the horn and wipers(slow vacuum). The heater fan doesn't blow but the heater puts out heat going down the road. I had my mechanic overhaul the engine because it smoked. He did a valve job and installed new rings, rod bearings, and gaskets. The crank, cylinders, and main bearings were in great shape. The clutch, transmission, and rear end are fine as are the brakes. It steers pretty well for it's age but 55 is as fast as is comfortable. The lights all work but the left turn signal doesn't blink. You can see in the pictures that the desert climate spared it from much rust. We installed a new windshield with a new rubber gasket, and both door glasses. The tires are pretty good older Michelins. I also put on 4 new hubcaps. CLOSING: I've had a lot of fun! It's been like going back to my childhood growing up on the farm in the 60s.
